  • @iigloo Yes, one of the common complaints with Battlefield 2042 was that a lot of feedback provided by people that had been involved pre-launch simply has been ignored. Not a good thing.

Next Battlefield is their last chance when it comes to me. They should take lessons from the past 4 years. No more excuses (development during lockdowns), they need to deliver a good product, which shows they have really listened to the community this time. There's more than enough input given already. Just look at these boards alone.

There are many times where I heard good news only to be disappointed.

This time I will wait for results

  • You guys all have short memories ... it was the same with this game ... "Groundbreaking" "Things weve never seen before" .... LOL

I think ANYONE that Pre-Orders the next game needs their head looking at.

No more money from me till I see Real, Genuine gameplay too, not the usual "Cinematic Trailers" gameplay, they are good at making rubbish look good.

  • Well they can playtest as much as they want if they going to ignore the feedback then it is not worth it.

However given the situation the franchise is in, they might be listening this time.

DICE playtested BF2042 using bots during development. At least DICE appears to be playtesting with humans this time. I hope DICE doesn't put bots in multiplayer again.

  • I think the general consensus here and in the broader Battlefield community is not to pre-order. I already stopped pre-ordering with BFV, and did not pick-up on BF2042 until half a year after launch when it was at discount. And for the next game I will definitely wait until after launch until I've seen multiple positive reviews and gameplay.

The key for EA will be how many new players they can attract, and how many players for whom BF2042 was their first Battlefield they can retain and convince into pre-ordering.

I think that a lot of gamers in the last few years have finally learned to stop pre ordering. A lot of high profile titles got low pre orders this year.
