Some questions from a new player on XSX

I recently bought an Xbox Series X and would love to get BF 2042, regardless of what the reviews say. I do have some questions though:

- Would it be okay to buy a preowned version from somewhere like Ebay? Or will there be a code or something in the CD case that links to your account, effectively making it so I've wasted my money and only bought the physical part of the game, not the actual game itself?

- Is there a difference between the Xbox One and Xbox Series X version of the game? I only ask as I've noticed several stores, as well as Ebay itself selling the Series X version for more money, even though it says you can play both versions on XSX.

- Finally, I use a wifi connection for my XSX... Is this going to work against me in online play? If so then I'll have to find some way of connecting my Ethernet cable from the console to my router, which is a bit of a hassle as it's located downstairs. But nevermind.

Thanks guys.
  • Yup, you can play a pre-owned copy of the game.

Xbox One is the old generation version of the game and the Series X is a new gen title capable of higher fidelity and larger game modes - While Xbox Series X console can play the One version, you'll be limited to the smaller maps and modes the old gen version can handle.

If you purchased the Gold or Premium version of the game, this gives you both old gen and new gen versions to download at your liesure.

Wired connections are always better than wifi.

I use a 'Powerline Adapter' which essentially turns wifi into a semi wired connection, I highly recommend searching it -- The latency is ever so slightly higher than if it were a true wired connection but you have wayyyy more stability than wifi

@Vanch333Hi not sure about your frst 2 questions as on pc however you used to be able to use a secondhand copy and pay a fee to ea to use it but that was years ago though, check with customer services. Wifi is not the best for gaming you will notice a difference using ethernet cable straight away if you donot want cables trailing upstairs look into powerline it uses mains system in your home instead of cables and cost about the same of a decent ethernet cable.
