specialist aren't the problem, weak tanks are!

tanks cant take down helicopters easy in 2042... that just means it's going to be a more annoying experience than bf4.... hopefully we can get tank & infantry only in portal...

and only people with K/Ds less than 2 worry about specialist....

    @zakrocz I might check out BF4's tank to see what did I miss. As for BF3, the tanks weren't that bad to me. In BF2042 beta, the controls & ground vehicles were suspect. Those are good ideas you laid out.

    A big hit box was putting it mildly, you could hit substantially behind or in front of the heli in bc2-nam and it would register a hit, yet it was never fixed.

    @UP_Hawxxeye Tanks and infantry shouldn't have to rely on someone in a jet taking out an OP chopper. That's just bad design and after the massive feedback during the entire lifecycle of BF3, Dice made sure they addressed the OP choppers in BF4.

    @TAYTER-GUN Well after the nightmare of the invincible circle strafing attack choppers in the main game, maybe someone at Dice decided it was payback time in the expansion pack!

    @RNM4010028I mean the new specialist has a heat seaking hand grenade that can blow up planes and vehicles. However in the beta a rocket launcher couldn’t. 😵‍💫😬😤🤡

  • @RNM4010028 I was able to take down many a helo in the Beta... although I did find the turret elevation to be too shallow.

    To be clear, I am not asking for much here, but everyone should be able to agree it feels lower than previous games and needs to be a little taller...

    Yeah agreed @carsono311 ,

    We could definitely shoot the helis out of the sky with the tanks in the beta gameplay, though it was flimsy and rubberbanding often on my PS5 setup.  Also those pesky helis suddenly teleported like 100m away in an instant, so not the most fluid gameplay experience there...  (it worked better on PC...)

    But your second point is important and also something we reported on in the beta functional requests area:

    Namely both on the too restricted low degree to which the tank cannon barrel could be aimed above the horizon.  And also the agonizing slow turning speed of the turret...

    @JRiv_Eagle Small point of order here, the heli in that video was severly damaged BEFORE the grenade hit.

    Oh, and we did have rocket dusting in the Beta, got to love the black puff of ha ha ha!

    @CyberDyme Yeah, both you and @Trokey66 are right. Too many netcode and dusting issues are still in the game, although I will say it was a night and day better experience in the Beta than the Technical Playtest…
