So while I am not totally against the specialist system, I do object to the fact I have a “forced gender, and appearance”. Even BFV we could select the gender and generally how my avatar looked… now we are going backwards in avatar customization.I am extremely frustrated that in order to have a wing suit specialist I will have to be a female avatar. I like that they have female avatars available so my wife can play one but if she wants to play a specialty that is a male she is now forced to play a male avatar.specialty should only = the specifications not an appearance , gender etc. we should be able to choose that

Though will DICE change it for certain markets i wonder? looking at you china. Also I can't wait for the specialist with the hover wheelchair - has to be coming surely if DICE want to be all inclusive.

@Steve081372Not a fan of this aspect either. I'd rather it just be standard soldiers models you can customize as usual. Leave out the "characters". I don't get trying to "identify" with video game characters in the first place, especially set characters and personalities. Odds are they won't be written or act like you or how you want to act anyway lol. So the whole "representation" thing is lost on me here.Ironically, it seems to me that people could identify better and we would get better "representation" if we could customize the full look as usual right? lol

Just give people more control over the appearance of a the character. Don't force me to play with a certain gender or appereance.

What is more important is being able to customize skins of a gun and what your hands look like. That’s what you’re actually looking at in game.

I’m all for options though.

@Steve081372I agree on the limitation of choices and customization, if this is what we will be limited to in the released game.
I don't care what my character looks like too much, sometimes i like to play with the default "noob" skin, sometimes I like to mix it up.
And by all means, for those fellow gamers who feel their character must represent their inner self, why not? Just don't go overboard with glowing rainbow skins and flashing boots, there are enough other games that can satisfy any such styling and design cravings.

Note: Sundance is not a female, but specifically identified as a non-binary. Why Dice decided to supply that level of info only for one Specialist, I don't know, buy if Boris identifies as a giraffe, I am fine with that too.

I do care a bit more about how other players characters look, especially the enemies. The McKay clone wars in the beta as non-optimal, but we know there will be at least some level of customization.

@Trokey66 Maybe you and I remember the BFV gender discussion differently. It wasn't about being able to pick any gender, it was about being able to pick female characters, who supposedly didn't belong in a WWII setting, and worse, the default for Medic and Recon was female.

So actually the discussion is lead by the same people now, that started complaining about forced to play a female character, when you want to play a medic. But yeah we got Angel, but maybe there is a problem with him being Romanian, too.
