Spotting

The spotting in BF2042 is terrible it needs go back to system like in BF4. The new ping system really doesn’t help gameplay as you ping someone it shows in the world and the mini map but doesn’t highlight the actual enemy so when they move the ping is just left in the world. You can’t ping multiple enemies at once either giving your squad/ team the heads up. This is really bad when you are down waiting to be revived and enemies running around everywhere and you can’t spot them all and you have your team just getting shot down and then of course losing a capture of flag if no one about to revive you or even anywhere near the flag/you.

@Carlos315 I am used to play BF4 without 3D spotting. In my opinion there is too much 3D spotting in the game already. And if you ask me, the killer cam has to go. To be able to point out where the enemy is going after they downed you, is dumb.

100% agree, I played BF4 like this as well on our old server and I hate the "kill cam" mechanic too.

@kregora I totally agree on spotting being way too much in 2042.

They should make it like BF1, which was "between" BF4 and BFV. You still had 3D spot, but no mini-map spot on shooting (the biggest offender in my opinion).

Kill-cam is ok from my point of view, unless you camp a lot, this is not really a problem (just move somewhere else).
  • @Carlos315 Agree, there is far to much 'gadet' spotting, @CSO777 has it right, BF1 level of spotting was spot on (excuse the pun).

Yep I agree, and I am definitely not a big fan of the kill cam, that should go.

@RayD_O1 At least DICE renamed their "kill cam" to "killer cam". I see some point in a "kill cam" when it shows me, what the enemy was seeing and doing, as they took the shot.
In that way it would be kinda educational, and it would show, if they tracked me through the wall as non-Paik.
  • BF4 was the best I didn’t play much of BF1 but I agree on the kill cam don’t need it on BF2042. If they got rid of skip killer cam part and just have to revive state but improve the spotting on that screen because it will give a lot better heads up to your team near by. Also agree could take mini map away aswel

One of the worst things about this game, ruins so many aspects of the game. Minimap spotting is fine everything else just needs to go. With this many players and this many gadgets that spot people you are litterly just shooting red squares constantly.

The chemlights imo are more than enough and work perfectly for spotting enemies. Just make it so chemlights shine slightly brighter when an enemy is spotted.

  • @Carlos315 yeah 3d spotting in my opinion was better.
it's also partial in with the ping system right now. sometimes it pings enemies correctly and vehicles, but only sometimes and only really rare somehow...
multiple pings would also be a nice addition
