Just wondering will BF2042 support some sort audio chat with squad players that are close by to players should be away from on'es own squad and relies on medic assistance or ammo or make them aware of enemy sighting.

It’s 2021 and by now a lot of people can relate to the level of fun and immersion that proximity chat adds to multiplayer games, specifically open/large world shooters. Why hasn’t Battlefield made it a priority to add proximity based voip? Even if it was limited to hardcore mode. The amount of potential it and engagement it would add for coordinating with your team would be huge. Especially in vehicles.let’s not forget proximity chat against enemy’s. This is just plain fun. Being able to talk trash as the enemy has you pinned down, or maybe even faking them out could be used to a tactical advantage. There’s lots of possibilities and advantages to having a proximity based chat system.

It would be very nice if you are within a few feet from someone from another team that you could actually communicate with them, i mean thats how real life works.

@PacNbowls Just frustrated with people who constantly swear and are pissed off because their squad member is not as good as they are. Other then that it is a good idea. Just make it so we can choose to turn it on or off.

Talking trash is what a 13 year old does IMO. Not a priority for me at all. And most games never really got a good implementation of voip going. I rather just use Discord or whatever.In most videogames half of the players (or more) do not have a headset or just don't want to talk at ALL. I remember for example playing BF4 where I would consistently do mic checks with my squad. I've had like one game where a guy was actually talkative and communicating. Same for CoD: Bo4. Barely anyone is using their microphone, and if they do it's ONLY to trash talk and say the most immature things imaginable. Wow, that's such a good feature we need to have in the game!

I don't know why Dice Sweden has never bothered developing their voice chat system. It often feels like they don't care about communication and teamwork. Battlefield 3 never had any voice chat on PC and it was only after considerable pestering that Battlefield 4 onwards had squad chat but they've never bothered developing it beyond that. Would be nice if they get with the times and offer proper voice chat in 2042 but given their track record I am somewhat dubious.

Along with the map tools, if you are chatting with squad mates, you should be able to know where they are at most of the time. Seems like a general squad chat channel should work.

Squad chat will be a default but with team I mean other squads nearby if audio chat with proximity audio obviously there can a mute option but I'm thinking two squad for players not known together not using the likes of discord but basically suggest better team aid for ammo and revive plus spotting coordination to aid those nearby

If no Proximity chat or spotting system then the game is going to need the most robust and unmissable comm rose communication system to have ever been implemented in a Battlefield game.
Prox chat would add so much to the game it's not even funny how it hasn't been added to the franchise yet.

Indeed big maps more players more comms is required for squad and team comms it's always been in my mind since BFV bought revive times down it be nice to say hey excuse revive me!

@mojoeuk I'd like to see this happen. Planetside 2 has a separate mic channel for proximity chat. It's a nice feature when you are in an area with a lot more players than just your squad. That can happen in BF2042 as well. 128 players would still be a solid medium sized base battle in Planetside 2.

@mojoeukI agree that proximity chat would make great addition to battlefield to improve teamplay, I remember when battlefield 3 on consoles (24 players) had team chat, which was great and really worked back then

i can understand today world of kids can throw insults and abusive language. A mute option should be there for players who are just trolls and spam! but i think this would make a great team play a much greater aspect and new way to make online friends within the community of battlefield.
