@ragnarok013 I think having larger squads falls back on only the squad leader being spawnable (minus having a beacon or something else). Otherwise clearing out a point could be harder than clearing a kitchen of cockroaches.
But as I've mentioned before, I really would have liked to have had larger parties than 4.6 man squad BF2 has squad leader spawn if my memory is correct but BF4/1 which had 5 man squads didn't enforce squad leader spawn. However with the current prohibition of spawning under fire since midway through BF4 we almost have a squad leader only spawn since you frequently cannot spawn on a large part of your squad.

So so broke.
On discord with someone and they have made it to a good position asking me to spawn on them and the game blocks me as a sniper on the other side of a mountain is firing.
OR spawn on squad mate and insta death as they are been beamed by 20 infantry and a tank.
They need to remove this completely. It doesn't work and its been broken since day one.@Ai-Fluffy Medal of Honor Warfighter actually solve this issue as they had 2 man fireteams and a prohibition of spawning under fire. What MoHW did was tell you in the UI that your teammate was trying to spawn on you so you can get into cover so he could spawn. MoHW's system seemed to have been much smarter regarding what "under fire" was than BF4-2142's overly sensitive system.
And honestly this restriction not to be able to spawn on a squad mate under fire is stupid anyway or just bad executed.
Cause you can also not spawn on squad mates where a enemy is too close too even if he doesn't get shot or attacked in any way. Also on the other hand you can spawn on one who might seem safe at the moment, you spawn > you get sniped > dead. Or a moment later someone comes around the corner and kills you.
Imo it doesn't do us a favor at all.
I think it was back in BF4 where it said he is under fire but he was just close to an enemy, which was actually in a different room than him but just close. But a massive wall inbetween them.

And where is my little spawn camera at the corner to see what my team mate sees before i spawn in on him?
Good things like that have just been left behind.

@Its_Travis_199 I agree I did not like it when DICE started the prohibition of spawning under fire after the BF4 launch. I like being able to choose if I should spawn or not.

@cso7777 wrote:@AnobixBattleBit has 8 player squads and it works fine (with 128+ players at least).
It can make it harder to capture a flag, but this can actually be an advantage. Fighting over flags becomes way more intense, it makes each flag feel like a battle on its own. In BattleBit fighting over a flag can take much longer time than in 2042, it is not just a case of killing a few enemies and capturing. You have to kill a lot of enemies and this requires many players working together. BattleBit has a 'epicness' to the fighting because of the intensity and 'brutality/chaos', which is missing from 2042.
Furthermore it makes 'lone-wolfing' more difficult - the chance of running into a larger squad is bigger. Thanks for responding, I bought Battlebit but have only played a handful of hours or so (rank 20 I think or something) and had forgotten about the size of the squads. The UI for that game needs several more passes, but it is very promising that's for sure.

Wouldn't be so bad if you could get more than 4 in a server.....

But yes, bigger squads would be a great help even if it was just 5 man (yes, I assumed gender).

@ragnarok013 yeah
But also bring back the little spawn camera that we also had back then to kinda see what he sees.
For a better and easier decision if it's good to spawn or not.

- @RayD_O1 Don't forget that Battlefield Hardline has 5 player squads as well. Such an overlooked game; I still enjoy playing it.
You would have thought that EA/Dice would have increased the squad size when they introduced 128 player game modes with BF 2042. - cso77772 years agoSeasoned Ace
@AnobixI have almost 'forgotten' 2042 because of BBR.
The game is so much fun, even though it has a lot of issues and are a way more hardcore shooter than 2042 (no minimap, no grenade indicators, very low ttk etc etc). It is not BF, but still close enough.
BBR have shown that if you make a game that is fun to play, then all the games shortcomings doesn't matter, the fun gameplay makes up for all the issues. I can play BBR for many hours in a row, 2042 often makes me quit within an hour.
And the gun-play in BBR is just so good and satisfying, which is really missing in 2042.
