- Adamonic4 years agoLegend@Straatford87 very good move, I gave you XP for making this change.
- 4 years ago@Straatford87 How about the infinite ammo/abilities they have? And ground armor too? There's no analog for infantry here.
How about the insane mobility of aircraft which allows them to easily hide away no matter what they're facing on any map, because all maps have extensive LoS cover both surrounding the edges and even throughout the middle of the maps?
What about literal tiny branches being enough to break a stinger lock/hide a helicopter that just hovers around a few scraggly, dead trees?
What about the health of both the condor/hind and the fact that both can have passengers spamming repair on top of their repair systems, passive heals, and high health/mobility?
What about flares seemingly being always up to the point where shooting rockets at them feels 99% pointless as they'll just be flared/blocked by any of the extensive cover aircraft can hide behind? Especially since we have limited gadget ammo unless there's an Angel around?
I sure hope there's more than just minor tweaks to one thing, as has been DICE's approach to trying to get any semblance of a handle on the aircraft that have been consistently and hilariously unbalanced since launch. It's been almost a year, DICE, I'm tired of being farmed as infantry by aircraft with basically no recourse beyond "L2fly, noob".- 4 years ago@edgecrusherO0 yeah, they literally need to look at what made helis great in bf4, attack had reload times for both primary and secondary so you had to be smart on how and when you used them, it was still had "unlimited" ammo but it regened over time vs only an overheat time and go back to spamming infantry or transports. in bf4 with the little bird we had no rocket pods, it was either miniguns or the splash damage cannons...the splash damage guns you were going to lose your 1st engagement with a heli that had miniguns so most just used miniguns and got better at killing infantry with them. No point when you have rocket pods that annihilate infantry. Its pretty obvious they never played previous fan favorite games to understand what made those games great or bad in other areas.

From a tankers perspective 3 was awful on any map with competent jet and chopper pilots so I just gave up on conquest in the end.
In 4 once they eventually buffed the admittedly laughable weak attack chopper at launch I always felt I had a chance at downing an attack chopper who was gunning for me in a 1 vs 1.
But we did have APS to help out, a tank that could rotate on its chassis faster, faster turret (on console) and a higher elevated cannon.
All missing from 2042.

All Dice is doing is waiting for us players to tell THEM how the game should be to save money.
Breakthrough today helis just shooting hiding, shooting hiding to repair.
At what point does it take to engage the Dice brain that's not how it should be!!
