If this a case-by-case thing than it does matters.
This thread is implying that Steam is doing an easy refund but they don’t.
OP has not even linked the source because then you could read that these are probably individual cases.
There are many players that have tried it over and over again and don't get a refund.
In this forum are still many players that complaining and have put over 250h in the game.
If I don’t like the game, I don’t put so many hours in it and when you do it, it's a bit hypocritical.
And if steam now again refuses most refunds, we have again unnecessary complaints that were artificially fueled by some content creators and media.

Well to be fair to OP, I have seen a bunch of sites reporting on it, and they all made it seem as if every steam user could get a refund regardless of time played and everything else.
I actually thought that was the case in spite of it sounding inplausible.I would like to point out that my original post I says "it APPEARS Steam are giving refunds"

You're right though it could be a case by case basis. But even if it is what is the harm of me posting it to inform people that there's a chance, however slim, to get their money back?Misleading post imo as it sounded like Steam have a blanket offer open for anyone to refund where in actual fact it looks like you have to really keep hammering them with evidence to show that the game won't work. Broken games that don't actually work are a very different thing to games that no one likes and are full of bugs.
It is mildly interesting that they have refunded some people but thqtw about it.

So, for me this implies that Steam is going to refund the game to every one who want to but they don’t.
Also, I have read these articles before you have now linked them here and all are referring to one post of a redit user. Yeah, that’s a proof of concept.
And what harm can this thread or these articles do? You ask that? How many will now go and try it again and again to get a refund but will fail on Steam, what do you think who they will blame?
Not Steam they will blame EA/DICE for it but guess what these issues than is created buy such threads, news article and videos of content creators.

I've been on the periphery with this one as I'm not a Steam user but, from what I gather, this isn't a blanket policy from them. Some people will be able to get a refund outside of the general policy, like if they're having massive technical issues or it's their 'freebee', but it'd be the exception rather than the norm.
There's lots of posts on the 2042 Steam forums about this topic right now and the majority of people seem to be reporting getting declined still.
