Take the Auto Knife Out of the Game!

Yea, I am on PS5 and have never had this happen before.

And I have played BF since 1942 and every BF game since then and have NEVER had this happen before.

you need a lighter touch on the controller if you are using the "push stick to get knife out".   i have to push and hold stick to deploy knife and if you are using a controller you do to unless you have changed your mapping

Xbox player here. I've had this in numerous games, not just battlefield.  Melee is either on a stick that gets nudged when trying to ADS, or as in my case my hands are just oafish sometimes.  Remapping your controller might help.  I use a Kontrol Freak attachment on my controller sticks now and it seems to help, at least most of the time.

I have experienced this very often on Playstation 5 where my character automatically knifes at the enemy in close range when I am not trying to do it.  I've never had this problem in any other console Battlefield.  

What in the world is an "Auto knife"?

Seems to be a recurring theme with this guy.  User error confirmed.

I've never once had this happen, are your key bindings correct? Seems weird since you mention "Since the first Battlefield".

Have you tried another controller?
