While the third party takedowns are a great visual, they just take far too long to complete. They’re too dramatic. I actually love to see the ice pick takedown, and the stun baton is fun to do, they both take so long the chance of being killed before finishing is just too high as you’re just standing still. While it’s not a scientific test, I watched every take down and think the throat kisser is the shortest animation with the least amount of standing still. Bad name, but it felt like the shortest. Anybody ever tried timing these things?

@RanzigeRidder2 I completely agree but at least we get a chance to see that $10 skin! lolI noticed the slowness of takedowns and left them all default as well.

@ElliotLH Different knives give you a different kill style (as you know), a knife takedown where you can move and lay down as you plunge the blade into their heart is good as you’re a moving target. A lot of the knife kills involves standing and stabbing. I wish there was one where you used the enemy as a human shield lol, give you a chance to finish that takedown.

I don't like the third person take downs at all. Not only do they take so long as stated above it's disorienting. I want my first person stabs back since this is a Battlefield game. Seeing it in first person always gave me a thrill when I kill those campers or knife someone who is trying to knife me. The third person take down also seems to break my ability to time a take down correctly when compared to previous games.

@ATFGunr Never tried timing each one, but I did recently change the the default knife (think that's the one you've mentioned) as it was noticeably quicker than the hammer I was using previously.

Just got tired of missing out on tags because I got killed mid-way through the animation.

@ATFGunr I agree they take too long and put you at risk of being killed yourself in the process by a 3rd party.

The implementation of third person view takedown in a FIRST person shooter yet is another design fail by EA/Dice solely targeted to sell additional content.

@ATFGunr A human shield one would be pretty cool. It'd look like an action movie, with the added bonus of not losing the kill. I think that's a good suggestion.

@ATFGunr there was one of the Geists/zombies which once did on me a takedown with the stun batton. From my PoV it looked as if the batton was aimed right at my soldier's butt.
