Dear fellow Battlefield comrades, Please note it is too difficult to repair a tank in Battlefield 2042. TANKS NEED CAV-BRAWLER ENGINEER REPAIR CAPABILITY Please note since Battlefield 2, the tank and engineer have gone hand-in-hand but this is not the case with Battlefield 2042. DICE made some good updates with the CAV-brawler addition and the ability for the Engineer to repair the vehicle while sitting in the vehicle. The ability for an engineer to repair a tank in Battlefield 2 was excellent but non-existent in Battlefield 2042. It is too difficult to repair a tank while the engineer is outside the tank. @Dez_ZR1-VIPER Battlefield has always implemented external repair for tanks. Don't see why it needs to be changed.

@Dez_ZR1-VIPER To repair the brawler you still have to stand up exposed in the rear hatches, where you are extremely exposed. You’re also at the mercy of the driver who with a wrong turn will get you killed. When repairing a tank from outside you can choose which side. I tend to get up on the back and lie down behind the turret. I’ll survive a surprisingly long time doing that. I’m not that much more exposed than standing in the Brawler. Of course a tank can drive away and leave you standing there with your tool in your hand… where you’ll most likely immediately die. That just a bad tank driver.

ATFGunr, thank you for your reply and your comments are interesting.Please note I've spent a lot of time repairing the Brawler sitting in the vehicle and I am able to survive significantly longer compared to repairing an M1-Abrams or Russian tank outside of it. This is why I argue there needs to be changes implemented with Engineers in the context of repairing the tank outside of it. Tank battles are more fun when a good Engineer plays a factor.Thank you,Dez

i agree. i'm also in favor of removing ability to repair from inside a vehicle for all vehicles that currently have it.

@Prof3ss0r_M1k3 Transport choppers in battlefield has always allowed in vehicle repair. The only new one is the CAV, so it's left to be seen how that shakes out over time.

which leads us back to current transport helos being egregiously over armed (main gun) compared to past ones. either remove the main gun or remove ability to repair in flight

Please note I've spent a lot of time repairing the Brawler sitting in the vehicle and I am able to survive significantly longer compared to repairing an M1-Abrams or Russian tank outside of it. This is why I argue there needs to be changes implemented with Engineers in the context of repairing the tank outside of it.
Tank battles are more fun when a good Engineer plays a factor.

It needs to be changed because Engineers like me hesitate to exit the tank to repair because it's a death trap.
DICE needs to introduce inside tank repair like the CAV-BRAWLER or implement a new algorithm that gives the Engineer extra health when outside repairing the tank.

The biggest problem with trying to repair a tank in Battlefield is the Tank 'running away' from the repairer !!
Time and time again I jump out to repair only to see the Tank disappear into the distance !!

You make a good point!
Battlefield 5 allowed you to shoot the tank and the tank driver will hear that request - recognize your shot and stop for your pick up.
As in, the tank driver can hear your gun shot from behind the tank he is driving and therefore recognize friendly infantry is requesting a ride.
Tank driver will stop and pick up friendly infantry. This is lacking in Battlefield 2042
