I was sceptical that Dice would continue supporting the game after S5. Sure, it would be a typical Dice move to abandon a game when it finally starts improving (see BF5 for reference).
But honestly, bringing a new season and calling it a NEW DAWN and THEN cutting off support would be pretty low even for Dice, don't you think? 😉 - X-Sunslayer-X3 years agoSeasoned Ace

In all honestly, what this game needs at this point is not brand new content like maps, vehicles etc but to refine what is already in game and if possible to get some more "legacy features" back.
Maybe to also bring more guns from portal to the game.
If they just kept adding new stuff in the messy closet, it would just increase the damage one would sustain when they open it and all the contents pilled on top of each other come tumbling out.
The stealth helicopter, the TOR and the SPH are good examples of what happens if one just adds stuff for the sake of adding new stuff

This was expected.
Anyways, why would they continue working on a game when the community incessantly complains and trashes it? No matter how much work they've put into reworking all of the base maps, bringing a class system back, and significant balance changes... the players continue to cry about everything no matter how small (and personally attack the devs, too).
You get what you deserve.

With that initial statement I completely disagree. For me as infantry only/main player I personally don't care for new vehicles of any kind. I would like to have some fast transport (BF3 motorbike or BF4 quad) to help traverse larger distances.
But what the game is lacking the most is new maps. New or say reworked ones. Just count the number of maps we had after 4 seasons/DLC in the older titles. And then compare to what we have now.
Yes, in the past we also had maps that sucked very bad and even the much beloved BF4 had such atrocious maps like Operation Whiteout or Altai Range. But you could easily just not play them because there were enough others that were actually good.
In BF2042 there are a few maps that we never play because they are so bad, e.g. Hourglass or the 128 version of Breakaway. Or sadly good maps like Arica Harbour that are ruined by the number of vehicles. So content is lacking and maps are the number one type of content that we desperately need for the game to not go even more stale than it already has. - X-Sunslayer-X3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Anarchiesx " months ahead of scheduele" "loveletter to the fans" "not my first rodeo" "not a project in trouble" "the beta build was months old" "brutal expectations" need i go on?

I personally did not ask for the base maps to be reworked as the big sandbaggening did not improve those maps much. They should have deleted them (at least Hourglass and Breakaway) and just brought new maps with the same cadence as in the previous titles, say 3-4 every 3-4 months. This would have been sufficient to satisfy the players AFA new map content is concerned.
