What DICE needs to do is have a team or at least give molders the ability to import maps into Portal.
Totally agree, Portal has been under utilised and there are loads of really good maps they could port over that would breathe some life into BF2042 and give it some longevity.
- Sc0tch_Whiskey2 years agoSeasoned Ace@RayD_O1 They should let modders have ability to make whatever they want at this point. If this is the end of the season it would also be good to see solo/co-op full progression and the ability for players to go and get the season passes they have not got. This would also bring back some players to enjoy at their own pace.

I am a little disappointed, that the chances are high, to not have further seasons, as I think we had some good improvements to the game and it was sometimes enjoyable. It's still far from perfect and I think, the gameplay from BF5 is still better (it has its flaws, too...), but it went into a good direcation.
But I would fully understand this direction, the playerbase is not that high, the income through the ingame shop is probably low... and the question would be, if there are many customers, who would buy another battle pass (as the playerbase itself is already small).
So I think the ressources are better used in the new franchise (next BF game probably) and I fully support that, too. It is just sad, that between now and the next battlefield, there will be... nothing. And I think the players are desperately waiting for another game, like BF. For me, there is no competition, no other ego shooter, I would rather play at the moment. So I focus on other games... WoW, or at the moment Elden Ring (didn't know if it is something for me but wow... what a game).
I don't know, how EA or DICE had planned all this, but as ressources are every time short, I would try to focus on making new content in a easier way, so you just need a smaller team, to further support a game. The way EA/DICE did it the last games, didn't work out well I think, the support had been canceled and the playerbase went dry on content.
I still hope a little bit, that DICE is announcing another season, but I don't think that we will be so lucky. So I just hope, they get the next BF title right, with more destruction, more gameplay focused decisions and more successfull parts from older titles (for example, fortification was fun I think)
Good luck DICE / EA, I think even with all the negative feedback you get, the players itself just want the best game, you ever created. And I think even EA/DICE can agree, BF2042 especially at the beginning, was not the best, the studio is cabable of. Oh and if one department at DICE/EA is doing their job the right way... it's the one responsible for the trailers. You got some really nice talent there.
- YourLocalPIumber2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Captain_Tachi I don't really agree on the "Low player numbers"
Even dreaded Steam charts show 15k-18k concurrent players. With PC and consoles, there are easily over 150k concurrent players, which is average or even above average for almost 2 year old Battlefield game, especially 2042 which had disaster of a launch and first year of "support"
Also, judging by the number of skins I see around each match, shop sales definitely aren't low. That last Falck skin pack must've made some mad cash since 9/10 Falcks are using it.
