First off im glad that they buffed DMR's they have felt underpowered for way to long now!
But buffing the BSV-M is the wrong move!
The BSV-M already is dominating at Mid range even short range some times.
And now they are buffing it, so it will dominate at long range too!
If they really feel like it should be performing in Long range, then they should definitely nerf it's Short and Mid range capabilities.
I surely can't be the only one having these thoughts?
Agreed, this was a surprising buff. BSV-M felt above average already.
I've seen a lot of requests for some weird stuff - but I can't recall ever seeing anyone request a buff to the BSV-M.
Either the internal data tells a different story than what I (and most others have experienced) or DICE just missed the mark on this one.
The fact they are buffing the bsv clearly shows the devs don't what they are doing
- @InS_Hypno Didn’t get killed by a K30 playing last night for about 2 hours, but the BSV was number 1 for deaths. Even at close range the K30 is garbage now. It needed a nerf but at range, not at close quarters. The devs need to play more to see what’s wrong, or stop listening to Twitch and YouTube players and listen to their own forums.
It's just projectile speed and headshot damage. I feel like weapons in this game need some more headshot damage anyway.
It's still on the very low end of projectile speed for DMR's and its primary strength is still going to be mid range three-shots, where it is also outperformed by other DMR's and even a skilled AR user.
- @llllKylo_Renllll In my experience other DMR's don't outperform the BSV in mid range at all.
Yes the slower bullet velocity helps, but it still has high damage, with higher firerate and relatively low recoil than other DMR's. (Haven't tried VCAR since before update 4.0 though)
- @Flommingsen This game has worst dmr weapons in history so nice they are finally buffing. I'm not sure how about bsv-m, have to try it first after this update but my opinion before this update it's not so op. You have to hit multiple times and it need skills to hit so many times to moving targets. If you stay still you can get killed no matter if shooter uses bsv-m, sniper or what ever
@aksur83My experience is it is way too OP in comparison to the other weapons in game. I got it in T1 in just 3 days of continuous use, but roughly 5 days with the AK if that can paint a picture, why i feel it's too OP.
Essentially it's just a high powered AR in my opinion, that's why i think if they are gonna buff it's long range then they should nerf it's short/mid range power.
keeping it more indline with the other DMR's without bbeing like the others.- @Flommingsen I know what you mean and you are right if you compare those weapons. But like I said in this game dmr weapons are pretty weak, I mean if you have played all the the other bf games before because I think before they were pretty decent and I liked to used it but in this game they didn't work as used to. I mean I compare it how it used to work not how it compare with other weapons in this game. I think they should fix so many of the weapons not nerf all the weapons to be as bad as most of them. Weapon list is anyway so thin and now there is maybe 4-5 decent weapon you can play with
@Flommingsento be fair they are not buffing it in any way that makes it better in the short and mid ranges it is usually used at.
I'd call it a tweak more than a buff. It still performs the same at other distances
- @EliteShifty It's a buff for long range, which probably means it will be good at long range as well i never said they buffed short/mid range
- @UP_Hawxxeye Im saying that it is already good in short and mid range, and making it better at long range as well, just seems like they made a weapon good at all ranges.

Other guns are still more specialized. For a long range DMR I would still use the SVK
The speed was already fine
i just like the buff cause of the salt it will cause on youtube and in forums
