Yeah it's definitely op, I used it a little just to get the kills for the weekly assignment, while I understand that so many are using it because it's new, yeah, but it's still definitely op. That being said it's not as much of a problem as other things in the game so even nothing is done to it that's fine, you can still play and have fun even people using that gun, it's not a huge issue.

@Straatford87 wrote:Hey folks,
I can add more context about the BSV-M balance changes in the #1.1 Update, which we know is being discussed heavily in terms of its power.
What we've done in this update is buff all DMR's as a group, because we felt they were not performing as you would expect. By instead adjusting individual DMR's, so for example excluding the BSV from this change, it would mean just further widening the gap between individual DMR performance, which would then lead to more difficulty establishing a balance between them.
In short, we have now established a baseline for how we want DMR's to perform. If we still see the BSV dominating, we are able to balance it with more accuracy so we can adjust it while still ensuring it remains a relevant weapon to use (because it's awesome, but that's just me).
What we also can confirm is that we're reviewing and testing changes to the High Power (non-Subsonic) Rounds, and its behavior in Full Auto mode. We're looking to include that in a future Update.
The high power rounds need a damage nerf at ranges or a major fire rate nerf in single fire.
The combination of the lack of scope glint, silenced fire, high ROF and 3 shot kill potential is not balanced
its maybe not OP in your book, but nonetheless its pretty unbalanced .. should have kept it a marksman, for sure now the latest update makes dmr"s more usefull on longe range .. if you can aim you will not be outgunned close range or not much, from medium to long range its not much to do .. so dont tell me its nicely balanced against the other weapons :') ..
the ones saying its not op are the ones only using it xD ... its very unbalanced and they should have kept it a marksman or made it an assault rifle ..
k30 does not "destroys" it .. its close maybe, from a little distance k30 does not stand much chance if the other can aim ..
assualt rifles, maybe not all of them ..
but there is no dmr that is better then bsv ..
all-round great weapon, they should have kept it a dmr like it should .. or atleast had some proper balance, or just tweaked it in some eak style idk .. but dont act like its just close being a top 10 weapon xD

this thing is too versatile for beeing a marksman rifle...
you can place it somewhere between the k30 and mp9 when you go close range with close combat outfit which doesn't make any sense for a marksman rifle
and then it's better than some of the marksman rifles itself, which for an auto sniper should not be that case, atleast not better , equal or slightly worse would fit much better
- Flommingsen3 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Straatford87 I totally understand that you want to buff all the DMR's in it's intended range which is long range.
And i definitly agree with the decision.
But i think a lot of us would apreciate the compensation and having the BSV-M's Short / Mid range nerfed, since it can outperform most guns in CQB (On par with MP9 in my opinion) and outperform allmost all situations in mid range aswell. (With HP-Rounds and LR-Barrel). - @Captain_Tachi I definitely can think of plenty of situations where I prefer the absolute power of the SVK over the BSM. SVK is very high power with medium fire rate, with the only issue being low magazine size and fairly heavy damage dropoff.
Basically, it's just a more power-oriented but less versatile version of the BSM. There are absolutely situations where the SVK will outperform it. - Captain_Tachi3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
@llllKylo_Renllll, I agree. But the SVK has significant disadvantages. The rate of fire is slow, it is loud, you have to aim much more precise, you can see the bullets (and so the position if you miss), the magazine is small, the recoil is high... But BSV needs maybe 1 more bullet (if headshot, then 2 hits are enough), but for this "reduced" damage, you get this amount of versatility? Sorry, I don't buy it, that this will make up for it.
I killed my 1200 people with the BSV and it was pretty easy. With the SVK, it is impossible for me to get good results (I enjoyed the DMRs in BF5 but can't keep up with them in BF2042, except the BSV).
Maybe it is just me... But I doubt it, when I play, everybody is using the BSV, nearly nobody the SVK, no matter what range is needed.

Picked up the BSV off some I killed in a match yesterday. Went on a 12-0 run before a tank took me out. I went full auto and spammed. Gun is insane
