The case FOR specialists
Embrace change! I know this is an unpopular opinion but please try to read this with an open mind. When has this franchise not been about change? Every iteration has had a new system or mechanic. B...
@BaronVonGoonAt least to me, the specialists fix a major class balance problem that was especially prevalent in BF1 and BFV with some classes being a lot better than others.
If this image had been created more recently, the Action man would be having FIVE Bazookas instead of three Panzerfausts.
@UP_HawxxeyeLOL at ACTION MAN.
I see the potential benefits of Specialists for sure, but I also hope EA DICE understand that they have effectively doubled down on the "meta" game...
With the classes only being differentiated by their ability and trait, they will need to make each one individually appealing as well as ensuring that there are no clearly superior weapons... essentially they have a lot more balancing in front of them and I have never been impressed by their skills there.
@carsono311In pure meta based on the beta, people will favor the hook man for what I heard was better ADADAD movement and the hook that can be used both as a tool and a WEAPON (?!?!).
Otherwise the doctor lady to have both healing and ammo.
Personally I am always leaning towards Casper, the recon guy because most of the time what lacks is providing the team with intel.
@UP_HawxxeyeYeah, Mackay's original trait "Nimble" was simply being faster. Which is obviously quite useful...
EA DICE did tone him down with the new Nimble though:
Still quite useful, but not over the top either. I suspect the Specialist tweaking will be an ongoing thing, but I do believe it will be possible to find a sweet spot for each one... eventually.

In my opinion this nimble trait about moving faster while ADS etc is super meta and should not be a trait. Because every ADADAD-ADHD-YOLO-MLG performance nutter will pick only him
I recall that in the beta Mackay had instead a trait about aiming better while on the wires.
Im alright with it as long as we get to see who else and what they can do
Several argue that specialists more or less are the same as classes. In that case, they now rise from 4 to 20+. And dice still need to invent 16+. It's a terrible idea, which can turn into ridiculous specialists and a nightmare to balance. Specialists make sense in Hazard Zone, but I can not see the point in other gamemodes at all.
