The game is great. Dont listen to the people who want to live in the past.

The game obviously isn't finished, buggy and yes there is a lack of everything but the game itself is great. NONE of my friends are unhappy with the game mechanics. But it needs fixing badly and fast.

  • The specialist are great.
  • Creating your own loadout is the best.
  • The gun attachment system that can be customized while fighting ingame is so good for us who don't just play meta guns.
  • Deep Vehicles customization is welcome.
  • Different weather and lighting adds SO MUCH to the atmosphere and we love it and want MORE! MOORE!!!
  • The maps are big as they should be in a battlefield game and actually have different zone to appeal to different play style. I like the options that it gives. Some of those zone could be a tad bigger or have more stuff going on. Hourglass is the best map so far for me, both visually and gameplay wise. Renewal is second. 

The problems are the multitude of bugs that seems completely random and performance optimization. Some night i don't get any bugs or minor ones like can't jump for the next 5 minutes(it resolve itself, i don't need to die, it just goes away:/). One of my friend lose ADSing. Those bugs are taking a toll on everyone. They turn a fun time into an annoyance.

Got so tired of the kids regurgitating memes and falsehood about the game that i felt compelled to start posting. The game is great but is deeply buggy. BF4 suffered greatly from the first few months of server crashing and never recovered a good player base. Yes it's lauded as the best BF but who remembers that for the first years it was hard to find a server without being 15th in a queue for 20minutes...The matchmaker will alleviate the queue problem that held the game back but you'll need to get people back into your game. BF4 gave shortcuts after the server crashing was fixed to bring back people(worked for me) and i suggest you give a season once the bugs are squashed(gold here, i personally wouldn't benefit from that). You don't have time to eggplant around. This was my love letter to DICE.

    @DAYLEET Kudos to you mate.

    I like nearly all maps but my Favourite map is Discarded so much variety in gameplay which you can have here, is fun to play.

    Renewal absolute great visual, design with the more like desert\rock part and the green fields on the other side, so nice.

    And yes, the visuals on Hourglass are cool there are so many little details even it is a desert map.

    Most old school map I would say is Manifest, if someone is complaining here the person don’t like anything.

    I’m willing to wait what DICE will give us but till then I enjoy the 128player conquest.

    I agree.  Me and my friends are having fun with it also.  The game gives me BF2 vibes.

    @DAYLEETYeah Im loving it to.

    Its one of my most played games of 2021 already in spite of it releasing recently. At around 160 hours now.

    I have seen a ton of new players rank 1-20 the last few days, so it doesnt really seem like new players have been scared away by the negativity.

    Same here after 170 hours playtime. I enjoy a blast from the past occasionally but the Specialists are amazing and brings something new, fresh and exciting to the franchise. I will be playing and supporting this game for a long time.

    @WelshWilks Cant say I'm a fan of the specialist, maybe when more come in and its a bit more diluted I'll change my mind. I've played everyday since the early release and yeah I do think it needs some positivity towards it. The weather effects I think are pretty amazing but needs more damage to the environment.

    The problem is that 2042 straight up removed or ignored features from past games that would benefit it right now. Get out of here with "living in the past"

    Idk. I think a AAA FPS multiplayer only game without a scoreboard is unacceptable.

    I think flashy cartoon heroes don't belong in Battlefield

    I think weapon variety is important. 2 LMGs is laughable

    I think having the same exact character on both sides of the field is lazy and unimaginative

    I think the absence of previous games mechanics/features that were beneficial such as leaning/peeking is lazy

    I think calling said features "legacy features" that need to be discussed should have had that discussion before the game came out and not after

    There are a LOT of missing features and some things are done stupidly. No team play at all. No point to be squad leader and actually nobody even acts like one. Rubberbanding, bad optimization. This is for random guys who wants to play some overwatch type "battlefield".

    Weapon and vehicle selection menus are fair but you can't even select certain loadout before starting the round.

    @rippedwire01 And this is pretty much why people have left - the lack of content. Most have given up arguing even here...

    I love a lot of BF2042, but a lot is freaking terrible.

    The specialist system is pointless, and actually reduces variation.

    The weapon balance pass over missed so many essential elements to gameplay - the DM7 taking 5 shots on a guy with armor is *, and when you have so few weapons, weapon balance can't afford to be so off.

    I feel like its going to take at least a year for QoL changes.
