The more you play BF2042, the shorter the life of your SSD will be.

I am Japanese. Sorry for the translation.

Playing one match on BF2042 will increase SSD write volume by 80-100GB.
If you are using cheap SSD, TBW may exceed the limit at once.
If you've already played a lot of BF2042 and have installed BF2042 on your SSD, try using software such as Crystal DiskMark to check the life of your SSD.


Some Japanese players have said on Twitter that SSDs have had their lifespan reduced.

The attached image shows the amount of data BF2042 has written to my PC's SSD, as confirmed by CrystalDiskInfo.
I bought the regular version and started playing on 11/19 (Japan time).
As a result of playing with my friends from the night of 11/20 to around 3am on 11/21, we confirmed that the amount of data written was over 1TB.

    Thank you everyone for all the responses.

    Let me summarize the contents.


    First of all, my PC has 16GB of RAM, so it has not been damaged by the amount of writing.
    I also learned that the amount of reading does not damage the SSD.


    But for an 8GB player with RAM, which is the minimum PC requirement for BF2042,
    Data may be written to the pagefile or onedrive folders, which can reduce the durability of the storage.

    Is this a possible cause?

    @Micco_eth Possible? Yes

    However it is highly doubtful this is what caused your drive to degrade like that.

    This game does have a lot of problems... But I don't think this is one of them.

    @cso7777 You are correct but I don't need a gig taken up in my OneDrive for absolutely no reason. It should be in another non-OneDrive folder such as one of the appdata folders.

    Edit: Checked the rest of my Battlefield folders in my documents and none of them have a cache in the onedrive.

    I have played 10's of matches and the whole Battlefield 2042 folder in documents is only 1.7 GB.

    I have 32.GB RAM and run it from "M2 SSD" and is perhaps why it don't need to cache much.
