@UP_HawxxeyeWith your example of the LATV, it's not very effective from my experience. The range is worthless when I last tried it. Dice is always playing around with balancing, and not in a good way. They're all over the place at times. The Wildcat should be the king of AA, and anything that flies should be absolutely terrified of it. It should be that way at launch until the game gets phased out. That's a problem when people are trying to learn what's effective and what isn't. I think it's less of an individual problem, and more of a bad design issue.
The whole design philosophy for balancing is just a mess. Infantry should be for taking objectives. Vehicles should not have access to the flags, but they should be for patrolling around them to aid the infantry in capturing points. Air vehicles are a novelty. They're there to fight each other first and foremost, and then they should be an annoyance at best to ground vehicles. It should be a tedious chore for them to farm infantry. That's how things should be balanced in order to make it the most enjoyable experience for the majority of players. If you want to farm with a helicopter or jet, go find a single player game, sorry. The game plays a thousand times better without attack aircraft.
The problem I see with Dice, and a lot of other developers at the moment, is that they just throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what sticks. It's not a carefully designed game from top to bottom. Throw in stuff, something is way out of balance, nerf the living hell out of that, buff something else... it's just chaos in my opinion.
