This was the only battlefield where the average player had a fighting chance against long-distance snipers, thanks to Dozer. But with the recent changes, snipers running armor-piercing rounds can now shoot through the shield with only a 45% damage reduction. Congratulations to DICE for catering to the only class that does not play the objective.
The developers were not satisfied with this.
80% reduction in shield draw speed has severely impacted Dozer’s offensive capabilities, crippling already niche and difficult (in comparison) to perform tactics. Dozer wasn't the meta before, but now there is completely no incentive to play as him anymore. Frankly, I cannot understand why DICE chooses to nerf an operator that never posed a real threat to any skilled player. I think the developers shouldn't listen to the vocal minority that complained about an operator that has been nerfed in the past and that is easy to counter.
I just won't play the game's infantry anymore due to this "assassination" of a playstyle.

Probably should post in this thread.

Our topics are pretty much for the same thing and almost the same opinion.
It is just that I consider the armor piercing to be less of a problem than you do and focus on the much more common drawback of the speed nerf
- Lady_One9 months agoNew Ace@Joshua_Canaanite AP ammo on anything except LMGs and the NTW-50 is almost pointless, snipers being able to damage him changes nothing.
AP ammo has all the worst characteristics of every ammo type for a gun, combined - lowest possible magazine size, projectile velocity that is around if not slower than CQ ammo, damage that is around or less than HP ammo at close range and CQ ammo at long range, fire rate on par with HP ammo, and on most non-season guns it has very few spare magazines. It is so bad, for a while you could NOT one shot headshot kill someone with AP ammo with the GVT at range if they had armor (when it also affected the head), and I believe you still can not with the XCE Bar with the heavy suppressor that reduces velocity more than damage.
It is guaranteed you are not 1 shot headshotting him at range if you deal 45% less damage, even without any suppressors. And the bodyshots? Sniper rifle headshots do 4x damage. That is to say, AP bodyshot damage can go below 25.
Only LMGs have enough ammo in the magazine for all those downsides to not be an issue, as often their HP ammo firerate and damage isn't as bad as it is on assault rifles, making running AP ammo with them actually plausible. And the AK 5C is one exception for the rest. But then, why even use it? You're still lowering your infantry damage over the chance that... You can deal ~10 damage to a tank if you spam your entire mag at it from long range, and you die? You can shoot the one dozer you may or may not come across?
I think it goes without saying, but, you're not sniping anyone with the NTW-50.- dozer_horrigan9 months agoSeasoned Newcomer@Lady_One It does not matter whether AP damage is lower than standard by 10 or 45 percent when you run across an open field (which happens very often in battlefield) and multiple snipers are firing at you from a kilometer away. You're still going to die after a couple of shots which you can no longer escape from, considering even before the nerf you had to avoid having your legs being shot. Not to mention cases where these snipers are shooting at you from very different angles and the only chance you had was to crouch back with your shield out.
Snipers that never play the objective wouldn't understand.- Lady_One9 months agoNew Ace@dozer_horrigan A "couple"? 6-7 bodyshots?
