There is no reason for me to commit to a pre-order this early without even knowing what the product is. I am however a Battlefield player to the core as there aren't too many other PVP experiences in gaming that motivate me to want to play them. However I don't think that the developers behind this series do enough to encourage team play and overall competitive environment for their many game modes. There are too many Breakthrough matches where people are avoiding obvious strong defensive positions around the objectives in order to stay safe and keep padding those stats. Stat padding culture seems to be where this series is now, and I am not really feeling it.
The current progression system is all useless challenges and unnecessary fluff. Winning the game modes is not a priority for the devs or the players, and if that does not change for the next game. Then a pre-order is very unlikely from me. While I still enjoy playing BF2042 at times and often get the urge to play it. Whenever I do play I feel like I am wasting my time because teams usually have zero focus or path for success within the game mode that they are playing.

No. For sure not. I would try a beta if there is access without pre-ordering. As so many others I also have some „legacy“ features on my list. If those are not there from the beginning, I won‘t buy.

Absolutely not!
I went from not preordering but still purchase at launch with BFV, to only ordering BF2042 months after release in July 2022 when it was at a discount.
If reviews for the next title are positive I might order at launch again, but definitely no pre-order!
EA/DICE will have to EARN their money from me.
