I shot a helicopter in the side twice with a tank and it just flew to an altitude that was too high to aim at and bombarded me with missiles killing me in about 10 seconds. But air vehicles aren't overpowered.

With so few FXAAs available (only Boris and Crawford), they really need to make them stronger as they can only target aircraft. At least M5s can shoot and damage aircraft, vehicles, and infantry.
when there is a helo that is really being a PITA i switch to rao and soflam. i hack as much as possible and keep the helo locked up. it annoys the hell out of the pilot and they usually end up getting frustrated and do something dumb and get smoked due to the soflam

I think we are in violent agreement. 🙂 I'm also saying it is broken for the exact reason you described. The below radar bug is present for all aircraft. Not just Nightbird. We notice it more with Nightbird because its easier to exploit with that one due to its speed and maneuverability allowing it to dip below radar after the locked missle is in the air.

There is a bug report for this. But the submitter doesn't realize why it's happening. They even attached a video to the bug report. You can see the aircraft is hovering just above the 30m mark and thus the FXM is able to lock and fire. Then, just after he fires, the heli dips below 30m and the missle flys off. This happens twice in the video, back-to-back. and it's a transport heli in this case.

Made a video on it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/11m1nh6/below_radar_debacle/
- @rainkloud Great work!
- S3SSioN_SoL3 years agoSeasoned Ace@rainkloud I noticed this as well, but also noticed it is far more inconsistent in the latest update. Sometimes below radar losses an active lock, sometimes it did not. Hell, I'm always getting locked on lmao.
Bare in mind, that the Nightbird bug mentioned here, is separate from this. The Nightbird bug has more in common with the old locked on missile bug from the game's launch, where the missile would just spin around the aircraft until it explodes dealing no damage. EA just nerfs or bugs but needs to balance things instead. So, if a vehicle It's too steong then make another vehicle that can counter that. For example all air vehicles can shoot Air to Ground but we all rely on the AA and infantry to shoot air vehicles down because the rest of the vehicles have lame anti air.
How about we add a SOFLAM to the 4th seat of the tank to designate vehicle targets and add the Tank Guided shell back from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 so it can hit those targets as well and assist the infantry from being devastated.

I brought this bug up in the survey, I'm guessing so have others.
This late into the game I really doubt it is high on their list.
