I wasn't expecting much from Halo. Hadn't played it in multiplayer since the first one but I admit I was surprised how much fun Halo Infinite is online. It's not trying to be fancy, it's not trying to reinvent its own wheel, it's not trying to make a statement. It's just classic, no nonsense fun. I straight up haven't bothered with 2042 after the first week with how much work it needs.
After Dice Sweden's recent string of flops, 2042 needed to hit the ground running, not run straight into the ground. It is not as though it is without potential; the game might eventually get good like Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5 did but I just don't really feel like doing it all again. The waiting, the frustrations, not knowing if the next patch is going to be the one that makes the game or sets the game back weeks.

The smaller game modes of Oddball, CTF, Slayer and Domination are all fun when you stick with your teammates and have some chaotic moments against the other team. And the Big Team Battles are just as good.
I don't want to wait around to see if BF fixes their s*** either. I remember this from BF5 when, with each patch, they fixed some things while breaking others. It was just nonstop chasing their tails. Again, I'm afraid that some of the issues with the game are just baked in and may not be fixable without a major rework. Just my guess though....
