@1Hairy-Gorilla Never the less, digital is becoming more popular and has to be taken into account whether posite or negative.
But these decreasing numbers that both CoD and Battlefield are suffering from may not be indicative of the games themselves but in changing trends of gamers in general.
People bemoan the likes of Apex and Fortnite
and Battle Royale games such as PUBG but if that is where people are going nowadays then mainstream titles will naturally suffer.
We have seen through BFV and possibly BF2042 that we, the 'community' don't like the change but the change may mot be enough to entice new blood in.
Times change and if businesses don't change with them, they will fail.

@Trokey66 Both had awful beta's and after Cyberpunk I think ppl are opening their eyes to releasing half done games for £70...

@1Hairy-GorillaPerhaps but I do think people want more and different stuff.
The same old formulas, whilst popular with those who have played for years, may not be enough for the younger generations. - HillbillyJohn4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Trokey66 Well they could make a Battlefield on training wheels for the youngsters I suppose. 😎

- 4 years ago@Trokey66 Nothing wrong with old formula's. The problem with this game is that they haven't tweaked the old formula's that worked then added other elements to it and made it work seemlessly. They literally just emulated other games. The end of round animations are from other games, the specialists are just basically "heroes" from hero shooter games, the matchmaking, even the main menus are very similar to other games like COD. EA Dice just added those things they copied, splashed some (lack of) weapons and vehicles with some big maps without balancing anything, and thought "yeah, great job guys, lets get the money". I get that players want to play certain modes such as BR or something similar but just straight up copying other games without thinking about how you can keep players engaged is gonna hurt this franchise in the long run, which by the looks of it, it already has. And it helps that the game actually works the way it should. Other modes such as Hazard Zone and Portal are disappointing. Portal is pretty dead everytime I go on there, even the servers they promote are quiet. And I don't see the point of Hazard Zone. If Hazard Zone had some sort of new weapon you can obtain by winning a few games or something that you can carry over to any other game modes, then maybe it's worth playing. But right now, I dont see a point playing it.
Talking about engagement, players can play solo against AI and unlock all attachments and vehicle unlocks, farming the unlocks. That doesn't seem to me like players are achieving anything. Previous BF titles, you had to fight against other players for those unlocks and once you got those, you feel a sense of accomplishment. With this BF, it doesn't give me or many other players I assume that same sort of feeling. This game has been dumbed down so everyone can access it and you don't really need much skill to play it. I'm actually bored of this game already, which is a shame as I was looking forward to it. - R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace@Arfan76 I think it's just uneducated players, I have the same issue chasing people to give them ammo.
- BtheReaper494 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Arfan76 And it's not like EA said "Hey, let's keep the Battlefield formula that WORKS but change it up a bit". Quite the contrary. From Tom Henderson's video, EA told them early on that they wanted it like Apex. This is not just "change". This is warping and molding the franchise into something it isn't. The future looks bleak indeed...
- 4 years ago@BtheReaper49 I enjoy it....when it works. There are moments that bring back the golden days of BC2 and BF3 but are instantly destroyed by how god awful the game is from the ground up. It hurts
