Additionally the range around the tanks crosshair where you can get a lock should be increased/improved (again like BF4).

And I agree, for slow immobile things like a tank the shot should go up and hit from above.

While other rockets should be further expended in their variety of behaviours regarding direct hit/from above, speed, maneuverability, (splash) damage, ability to disable, etc.

It's frustrating, although I think some counter is needed to balance it, but that's just concerning a future version of the game where laser-targeting is actually rewarded, supported, usable and so on...

BF3/4 had a choice of countermeasures.

Either flares that stop heat seeking missiles but does not break missile lock on process. (so if someone flares before the missile was fired, they were boned)

Or ECM that theoretically only affected lock on and laser. (sadly it sometimes also stopped incoming missiles)

I wonder how long it will take them to fix these issues.

This already needs a little rework and considering a major update should drop every 3 weeks.

Just looking at all the issues with lasering I would be happy if those were at least tackled step-by-step. Like these problems are here for so long now that they have to be adressed now, right?

Totally agree, it would be a waste if they don't adress laser targeting, when it's gameplay *they implemented* and recently put more tools into the game that use this mechanic *potentially* (STAFF and Smart ammo).

And it hasn't been improved *since launch* while being probably the most battlefield-like feature there is, incorporating multiple classes, coordination, responsibilities and even a learning curve.

@XXXSELVERXXXThe SOFLAM needs a range increase of about an extra 150m and a chance that lock ons can penetrate through counter measures depending on the distance of the SOLFAM to the vehicle, maybe a difference between ACTIVE laser designation and PASSIVE laser designation where the wielder of SOFLAM is actively targeting the vehicle allows lock ons to penetrate counter measures. Rao's hack should also be increased, his hack is perfect to couple with the SOLFAM but the ranges are underwhelming for both.

BF4 did it much better. Something is wrong with game design in BF2042. Has to do with javelin trajectory, the requirement of line of sight for the jav user and the current flare-system.

It's mainly the flarespam in my eyes. It cancels out any coordination.
