The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...
Glad I'm not the only one noticing this. Its infuriating when other players in a match just troll and say it doesn't happen when it clearly is, and throw out the usual round of 'git good' and 'skill issue' responses. Sadly it seems the new season is off to the same thing. Getting instantly clapped by console players. All under rank of 40, all headshots. Rank 9 instantly capped me through the new deployed weapon, at 100m, with a suppressed M5A3 using close quarters ammo. Instantly.
Console users basically now have snap aim assist and it’s beyond comical now!
Don’t get hoodwinked by these console players the aim assist is on call of duty levels now!
An update of interest to this topic: I turned off crossplay for the first time in a while tonight, as a test. Not as many players, and more bots, but I died much less than I would in a comparative match with console players. Aside from a few questionable players (namely being able to instantly locate you without any scanning or spotting evident), I didn't get beaned in the head anywhere near as frequently, and the frequency was waaay down in close quarters, white knuckle fights. It felt considerably more balanced.
So I'm not the only one to notice sometimes people are firing semi-auto weapons on what seems like automatic. I had one guy earlier doing that with a grenade launcher. He was using the SFAR, popped a round at me, died. Revived, and on his killcam he fired again at someone else a split second before I was up. He immediately fired a third grenade, with absolutely no time in there for reload. Quickest three round pop off I've seen.

Snap aim assist was always working in BF2042. The update fixed an issue with the slowdown bubble and I perceive no changes with the snap aim assist.
This level of snap aim assist also existed on PC servers for BF1 and BFV did you find it comical then too?
Snap aim assist is often a hinderance. Players are better off without it. Two big issues with snap aim assist 1) It doesn't really allow you to lead targets 2) It often gets confused if there are enemies standing together.
Here's three popular Youtuber's sharing their recommended controller settings:

Do you notice any trends with their recommendations on the snap aim assist setting?
Oh how the turn tables.
Srsly though, aim assist is slightly below BFV levels now. It's finally working.
Do you know why most people play shooters on PC because it's fun to combine eye hand coordination with many different inputs and get better and better. I will never understand why people play on shooter gamepads, the input is just not set up for it and why do consoles not have standard M&K support for shooter games.
And if I would play for 10 years on console and then get killed by every monkey because the game assists you so much than you do yourself, how are you supposed to differentiate yourself from other console players if your own skill is worth less than taking advantage of the assistants.
Look at Apex/CoD what is slowly happening, people who played M&K before connect a worse input (gamepad) to their PC to be better than with M&K. I hope in the future console and PC will be separated again and the gamepad support for PC discontinued.
It's not about crying, but imagine something like that would be transmitted in real sports, that would be a disaster.
