The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...
I'm continually flabbergasted by how Youtubers pull off 80% of what they do. It often feels like they're playing an entirely different game. Like when they say some new gun is super powered and you watch them bean person after person instantly. Then you use it and its average at best in performance. Vaguely remember something to do with FOV had some weird effect on recoil, but I've no idea tbh. Then again, I also got capped in one shot by Squid-G at one point with an NTW, body shot, at 130m, which...isn't possible from full health. 100m and under its a one hit kill, only in the head beyond that is it an instant kill.
But something else I notice with Youtubers is how much they seem to get away with, and the frequency with which they do it, like flanking enemies and killing them all without being noticed, or actively running through them with cars or Dozer shields and nothing tries to stop them or even seems to notice they're there.
I even got killed by a DICE dev last night in a manner that honestly kinda stunk. Blitzed them with an AM40 at point blank, knocked them down to 12hp (mentioned before how people seem to become repellent for bullets when they hit around 15hp and under). I was still on full health, switched to my PF51 and...instantly nailed by a burst to the body. Stuff like that makes absolutely no sense at times. There really feels like there is a massive discrepancy between say, my TTK and TTD, and that of a Youtuber or dev. Not a case of missing either, it simply takes more bullets for my weapon to kill someone.
When I did tests against bots, it would take something like 5 SFAR rounds to kill (tested with semi auto). In a PVP match, you can expect to drop half a mag or more to kill one person sometimes, yet they will always seem to kill you with something akin to fire rounds. When that happens in a panic firing situation, they're clearly using something to assist their aim, so all shots are on target and less shots are needed. I frequently suspect this is how they manage to fight off groups of enemies at once and survive. They're not having to spend time shooting one person or reloading, leaving them vulnerable. I shot a player last night point blank with the Avancys. Dropped them to about 5hp. They were five feet away, on the other side of a box, head visible. Unloaded on them, and nothing hit. Game created a delay (frequently notice this) so that someone else could instantly cap me. Same match had multiple console players take me out with probably two shots to the head, through the gaps of some steps. The speed and accuracy combination is far too great to not be assisted, and I'm certain console players are able to track and find you based on their aim assist effectively hinting where someone is.
what people are describing on this page is 100% lag. nothing more, nothing less.
Dice has shown time and time again, they don't know how to do lag comp or care about decent servers with higher tick rates. couple that with 64-128 players per server, and a low player count and you get a very laggy experience.
Watched the video from the first page. How is that not aimbot?
If they had the aim assist on PC, with keyboard and mouse, damn near be unstoppable. But no, if one is running, have to lead the target.
This is the last game i buy from them if they combine PC and consoles again
Apparently this lag is forever in their favour then.
