The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss.   How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...
I've played all matches since yesterday with crossplay turned off. Improvement of gameplay for me is measured in miles. I'm frequently back in the top three for kills, and can often get three to four enemies in 30 rounds. The only match that has come close to feeling like one against console players, was the opening of my last game. The bots suddenly went superpowered, taking a ton of damage, dishing a ton out in a second, and perfect aim. That felt exactly like playing against the consolers in crossplay. That instantaneous death.
Now if just more PC players would turn off crossplay, matches would be more frequented. On the other hand I wish DICE would drop the starting limit for matches. Technically it should only take one player to start a match as the rest are filled with bots like solo.
Sadly if more PC players turned off crossplay there would be more matches around. You can see the difference when looking for Portal servers between having it off and having it on. I can get a string of matches and then suddenly everyone disappears. Made worse by questionable things happening in the last round that kind of ruined the experience (in this case a dodgy player surviving aircraft 25mm fire, hitting me with a missile, finally dying, getting revived conveniently behind something, instantly locking on at point blank despite this not being quick or easy due to the slightest of movements, and then hitting me through clearly deployed flares for a kill), and then you don't get another match to make up for it.
For some reason there's no PS5 userbase with crossplay off.
Either the playerbase is too small to fill half a dozen servers (Very hard to believe) especially in Europe!
Or the console playbase is being used to prop up the PC base!
