The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...

Sorry partner, I have to disagree. Yeah it may "solve it" but it's really just bypassing the issue. Aim assist on controller or KBM without aim assist can coexist. It does in other titles. The issue really is game code. Why don't they just fix that instead??

I understand the KBM community has a number of grievances with the KBM performance and perceived performance of Aim Assist. 'Fix' those and I could see the KBM community being satisfied.
But what about the console community? There was outrage even before the beta came out. You say this issue will be solved if they just fix the game code. Which game code issues are preventing the console community from embracing crossplay?
Looks like developers are starting to nerf aim assist on PC and buffing it on consoles.
Aim assist in Apex operates under two different values. Console players have the internal aim assist set to “0.6” in the game files, a value that defines the strength of the sticky reticle effect. If you’re playing on a controller on PC, you’ll get a watered-down version of aim assist, set to “0.4,” which is far less than it would be on console.
I'm tired of developers trying to 'level the playing field' using aim assist. There's nothing fair about any of this. Lobbies should be seperated by input type.
Ironically, Apex Legends does seperate lobbies by input type but I guess Respawn Entertainment feels that's not enough and PC controller players need to be nerfed more than console players. We might as well seperate lobbies by the platform type too.
I'm just tired of developers thinking they can make things fair and balanced using aim assist. What will developers start buffing and nerfing next in order to 'level the playing field'? Weapon recoil?
Just kidding, 2042 already has 25% less weapon recoil on consoles too.
Was there a change to aim assist in the last patch? It feels "stickier" if that makes sense. What I felt before, feels worse than ever. A lot more headshots too. Some crazy ones from long distances, while I am moving, which seems very sus.
Once I am hit, there is nothing I can do to avoid dying pretty much instantly every time. If I am jumping, dropping down off a shipping container, sliding, or running in any direction, nothing prevents me from dying once there is the first hit. It feels like the game is saying that since I was hit once, I am dead, regardless of what I do or how I move.
However, when I am in a firefight with a PC player, I can move and avoid being killed after being hit. I still die sometimes, but I can actually jump, slide, and evade being shot and fight back.
Is anyone else experiencing this? This is not a crap on a platform thread, I am just curious if it is just me or the game.
Yup, 25% less recoil on console according to SYMTHIC.
Controller Input
When using a controller, a player's weapon will receive the following benefits:
0.75x FSM
0.75x VRec
0.75x HRec

No. I've noticed no change. Feels the same. The aim assist we have today still feels on par with the level of aim assist that we had in BF1 and BFV.
I watched a guy live streaming on YouTube playing battlefield 2042 on ps5 using the p90 and it was absolutely comical.
All you had to do was get your crosshair somewhere near and aim down sight and boom aim assist pulled on to target and the gun was a laser with zero recoil.

Check post #11 in this thread. I linked some videos of recommended controller/aim assist settings.
Take a look and tell me what their recommendation is for the aim assist snap setting.
If the snap assist was so great why does pretty much every serious console player turn it off?
When the last update dropped the game felt great. I was able to play in regular PC only servers and the input lag adjustments made a world of difference. Unfortunately, past week I cannot connect to any PC only matches, so I've had to resort to crossplay. When the input lag was adjusted even crossplay felt better. I have no idea what has suddenly happened, because it feels exactly as before again. Bunch of low rank players racking up dozens and dozens of kills. Headshot only in many cases. Tanking hits like they're nothing. Majority, per usual, are consolers. Perfect sniper headshots whether you're standing for a microsecond or ducking down, their bullet literally changes its trajectory to hit you. Hit an enemy player, instantly lost my head a split second later. Go to shoot an enemy player, and in the exact same timeframe of their bullet hitting me first, my shot was thrown miles off.
I seriously wish PC players would turn crossplay off so they can populate the regular servers.
Player in that round, rank 34, instantly takes my head off once. Then I bump into them again, point blank. Fire my AM40 right at them, nothing. They are facing away from me at about 30 degrees, one shot, my head comes off. Rank 34 had more kills and a higher KDR than anyone else in the match. It utterly stinks.
PC players just avoid SMG Rush or any other mode with a speed increase or RoF increases.
Somehow all Controller players have unbelievable skill to track you running and jumping at increased speeds without issue from any distance, yet the mouse input and lag comp is so bad on my side I have to lead an enemy with an SMG 10ft away to hit him while moving across my face. WTH. While I am instantly killed no matter what. Once I am visible, I am dead, from pretty much any distance, always a console player. Seriously frustrating. Something changed.
So I was watching this video, and many of the clips here seriously have me questioning legitimacy. Hit recognition for these players is through the roof at times, like the guy with the ballistic shield getting a kill each time he hits out with it despite being a few feet away (I can be right against someone and it won't connect) The accuracy, quick scoping without loss of accuracy, shots not going wide etc, and then of course this gem with a console player. Slow the video down to .5 or .25 normal playback speed and watch what happens after that first kill at 4:47.
Get a DICE dev in my squad last match and when asking them about whether the anti-cheat in the game actually does anything, was told it works about '85% of the time' followed by: 'life isn't fair, people cheat in games as in real life, get used to it.'
Some stellar confidence from a member of the development team right there in tackling the issues plaguing the game recently (and increasingly).

I think someone was pulling you leg.
My uncle who works for DICE says that anti-cheat works 94% of the time.
An additional thing I'd like to mention is this game's balancing. I have no idea how it assigns you, but it is consistently stacking teams to the point of absurdity. What makes it more frustrating is that it seems to be the enemy team that comes out on top 95% of the time. My win/loss ratio is quickly evening out because I'm enduring an average of ten losses a night to a single win. Enemy teams are not only exhibiting bizarre levels of coordination among randoms, but their teamplay is always better, their scores are always higher, often double, and they frequently have a higher proportion of questionably legitimate players in them. They seem to instinctively counter everything, or always have the right equipment. An example being if I am in a ground vehicle, all infantry will have rocket launchers and all aircraft will have anti-tank weapons. If I'm in an aircraft they will have Stingers, air-to-air missiles, or AA vehicles, without fail.
Not only this, but recently I'm seeing players below the rank of 50 topping team after team even with S100+ players in the matches. As always, console players are just devastating their way through matches, tanking damage and instantly capping heads. At times it feels like the game itself is being deliberately frustrating, with an example being: I engaged a player with a PF51, hit them with the entire mag, no kill, instantly die from SFAR fire. I shoot a player with an SFAR, and I'm instantly killed by their PF51. These frustrations are overwhelmingly caused by console players getting a get out of death free card through constant headshots. I had people shoot my feet and score headshots.
I will 100% say that crossplay is totally ruining any experience that this game provides.
Just a question if a statistics like this exists for BF2042 as well as this one for Halo:

For HALO, this is obvious how ridiculously overpowered aim assist is in this game. It would be nice to have something similar for BF2042 to clarify this once and for all (well, until AA is changed again of course 😉 ).
