The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...
Yes I would say mouse over controller is better but once you have Aim Assist turn on I put Controller over mouse , sniping with Aim Assist turn on is lethal over mouse .
I would think AA works with any weapon you are aiming with !
all though with a tank you don’t have to be dead on the body you can land a round next to them and get kills .
@Adamonic I'm positive it does. I got hit by a tank shell from a console player across the entirety of the Orbital map whilst chasing a Littlebird. They would have to lead that shell and accommodate altitude changes at the same time over like 500m at least.
It is absolutely out of control right now. They did something again in this last update.
Now if I am just visible to a console player, I die. What is the point of even playing this game if you just have to press the fire button if someone is in your field of view?
I am now getting killed, which feels like a one-shot, with every conceivable weapon, vehicle, and gadget. Now I know why that dude is Zooking everyone on console, it's not skill, it's aim assist. I got hit in Discarded, driving between cover, from the top of a ship 200m away, I am dead. It would take perfect aim on KBM to project where I would be after cover.
On Exposure, an HE UB Grenade takes out 4 of us in the vehicle, as the vehicle rolls to him (have screenshot), he jumps in. It was at least 100m away coming from an angle. Come on DICE, this is BS. Whatever change you made to AA, it is basically an aimbot now with every weapon, vehicle, and gadget.
Aim Assist needs to be off on cross play or tuned down considerably because the accuracy and headshots are out of freaking control right now. It is the most frustrating thing to die instantly every time without a chance at fighting back.
@Adamonic I'm wondering if they messed up the mouse input, made AA stronger, or both in 2.2. The game feels considerably worse to play, and a lot more unbalanced. I've mentioned numerous times how you have players ranker 70 and lower, often in the 40-60 range, topping servers in consecutive matches with something like 40+ kills on average, and less than 20 deaths, sometimes less than 15. It makes very little sense for a relatively new player to be beating out others of much higher rank (and thus more time playing and learning the game) to be racking up the kind of scores you'd usually get in a solid vehicle run, on foot. Multiple times.
The common denominator is always that little XBox or PS icon in their player card. You always die in the minimum number of shots it takes to kill, suggesting that despite any movement on your part or their part, all shots are going directly into you. This runs contrary to many one on one scramble fights against PC players where you can both take hits and make it out of the way. You simply cannot do it with a console player. Their recoil is so low and they just don't miss. It has to be the aim assist as well because I really cannot see someone on controller lining up their shots so quickly, accounting for all the variables of online play, to land headshot after headshot after headshot. You can try replicating what you see people doing in Youtube vids, but it never works with the same consistency. So when people are shooting before they've actually completed scoping in, and landing every single headshot, I get massively suspicious. I tested this in some of the training orientated Portal servers, and if you try to shoot as quickly as some people do, you will miss, even on a stationary target. Even if you don't actually move your point of aim, you will miss.
On PC, is just looks like a straight up hack, on console, its basically a legalised hack.
