This game could use some sort of an Anti-Smokescreen gadget or mechanic

Do not get me wrong, smoke grenades are my favorite grenades.

But smoke-screen is the only thing that we cannot really counter in any way and we have to wait it out. It is also the thing that makes Paik + 12M really annoying.

Just like how the smoke screen interacts with the incendiary grenade's flames, I wish there was something else in the game that could interact with the smoke screen to somehow prevent it or to at least disperse it.

Explosions themselves should be able to push the smoke away but that might be too much of a burden to the game engine to implement... I do not know.

So what does that leave us with? Some leaf blower of electric fan gadget?

Depending on the map there is either too little smoke or (in the case of Redacted) FAR TOO MUCH.

What is your take on this fellow Battlefielders?

@UP_HawxxeyeI’m surprised no one has told you that incendiary grenades defeat smoke. Instantly. You’ll have to deal with looking through your fire and it’ll bring certain other challenges, but the smoke is gone as soon as the incendiary hits.

    Wait what?

I am quite sure that the smokescreen can eat every single incendiary that I throw at it.

    I will do some testing.

As far as I know, it is smoke that stops incendiary, not the other way around

Hate dumb smoking Paiks on Redacted. They only interfere with the normal play of all other players.

A stupid tactic is to smoke everything, turn on the scanner, then run, make two, three or four kills by shortgun, die. Try again. No mind, no aim, nothing. Meanwhile, the rest of the team waits for the smoke to clear. For dumb smoking Paiks, we need to allocate a separate server with the lights off so that they don't even need smoke grenades. Let them run around in the dark with automatic shotguns. The dumbest thing about this game. Worse than cheaters. Before Redacted, I thought the two dumbest specialists were Makey and Sundance. Now I give this place to the smoking Pike. OMG...

@UP_HawxxeyeI’ll also test later, wouldn’t be the first time I talked out my rear end. I’ll post a correction if needed. I’ll also try if it defeats only enemy smoke or if our own incendiaries can defeat our own smoke. I don’t think it has a “friendly fire” effect, but I’ll mess around anyways. Edit - dang it, that did not work like I thought. Fire thrown at smoke does not defeat the smoke.
