Yeah, my thinking as well, Let the gamers decide. Cross-play is a great feature to bridge the gap between gaming communities while also driving competition from the companies, but the issue in my eyes is Battlefield 2042 isn't accessible to the console platform, even while forcing cross-play.
I'm sure more would support PC to console cross-play if console had some more accessibility features like the same level of inputs, graphical settings, but still some (like me) just don't want the experience of dealing with someone utilizing exploits.
