@Popa2caps You're right, if you want to take the time to replace a piece at a time, use outdated or used parts, sure you can build a PC on the cheap. However, if you go out and build an Up-To-Date, new PC it's 3 times the amount of a new, in box console. (or more) That was my point. I bought all new parts for mine a while back, didn't need the case or PS, but still have a pretty penny in it.
I don't understand your "PC isn't optimized to do lots of different things" statement. Mine will play games, run video and music editing software, stream to the internet, browse the internet, run teamspeak and discord, run the 8 different software installs I need for work, run a backup of itself, and much more. A console is centric around running a game. What am I missing?

I wouldn't focus on the entire sentence of that statement, but the word "optimized". Optimization - the action of making the best or most effective use of a situation or resource.
Windows and/ or Linux based computers are fully capable of accessing and/ or displaying multiple programs provided if you have the hardware, but what they lack is optimization while accessing it. This is however not the same case as an Apple computer and/ or home console.
You can access multiple programs at once on a Windows and/ or Linux based computer, but it's going to waste resources (energy) in some way.

A game console's role isn't about winning in a video game, it's about enjoyment.
PC players base always smaller after some time so they fix it with crossplay. Every time I play with crossplay I do not enjoy game. So basically this game is dead for me and many others as we can't find matches for series X at least. Console only crossplay was always good idea ruined by inclusion of PC...
