@Popa2capsAnd I disagree with you completely.
Heck the AI Soldiers and Portal are the reasons I am getting the Ultimate Edition. Otherwise I wouldn't be spending a single cent towards this game and would have just waited for it to be added to EA Play like I did with Battlefields 1 and V.
The bots are needed to help fill servers until they are full (especially in low populated regions).
This was from a petition to add Offline Bot Matches to Battlefield 4 originally but it still applies here as well:
1) They allow a player to practice all of the game modes at any time with a full compliment of combatants. (With Portal we can have matches with up to 127 bots on ANY MAP AND MODE WHENEVER WE WANT !!!)
2) They allow for a full game without any lag, slowdown, or dropout. (Same with Battlefield 2042 if the Solo/Coop and Portal servers we get are close to us with low ping.)
3) They provide great opponents Vs. teams of humans (Once their difficulty is tweaked up to the Maximum. Something they confirmed we can do with Portal.)
4) They cause a game to have infinite replay value. (Especially with Portal)
5) Even if we can only play alone (no Lan) with Bots, it would be a great opportunity to practice all of the vehicles. Online it is very hard to practice new types of vehicles.
Basically I am pretty much 50/50 about whether or not they stay in the Official All Out Warfare servers... As long as we could still get FULL PROGRESSION in the Solo/Coop and Portal matches like they already confirmed we will be able to.
I'm perfectly fine with people disagreeing with my opinion, I actually encourage it. No two people are alike in my mind, of course some will like the idea of bots, I just simply don't.
I look at everything in a constructive manner, I'm sure a ton of people will get an enjoyment out of the bots, but what about the people that don't? There is a fine line making everyone happy, currently bots only help one side.
People can use the argument that it feels servers, but in my opinion it just covers up the fact their still empty.
- 4 years ago@Popa2caps I would rather play a game with bots than not being able to play at all, because there are no people.
When I buy a game, I want it to last as long as I want to play it--not just until the majority of other players decide to move on (which seems to be about 6 or 8 months).- Anonymous4 years ago
Why I truly understand your point of view, I'm just a competitive gamer in first person shooter titles, and I really don't get that enjoyment from shooting bots. All I care about is playing with real players because I find it a more challenging experience.
I'm not at all suggesting that everyone doesn't like bots, just me. I know many players that get enjoyment out of bots, shoot I do when practicing new titles (sometimes).
My main concern with bots in Battlefield 2042 is players can't disable them. If players had the ability to disable them, I would love the idea the game has them for players that want them.
Longevity of Battlefield titles is tricky and I understand your view as most titles in the series do lose players quite quickly over time. I honestly just think people get bored because the last titles lack quality and/ or creativity so people move on.
As long as DICE makes a game worth playing, people should stick around. Like honestly, how hard can it be to make something that's already created. I still think players should have the ability to disable bots whenever they want.
