Either remove the things or give us something to defend ourselves. The "AA Rocket" in the game is beyond laughable, the weapon won't lock on when a Helicopter is 50 feet away. When it does lock on the Heli simply deploys flares and you can't lock back on, even after flares are depleted. Meanwhile since you've been focused on the sky a squad has walked up behind you and are going to swipe your tag.Even the Wildcat is basically useless against a Helicopter. The AA rocket locks on and then when fired takes off in a completely different direction. The 57mm cannon is more effective against a Heli than the AA rockets are. Just like BFV Dice has give the unskilled an avenue to rack up kills farming objectives, the proverbial shooting the fish in a barrel. They put a 10 foot circle around a flag and when the flag starts changing it's blood in the water for the KDR freaks. Don't even get me started on the Jets.

@LS5_71 The problem isn't the helicopters per say. Honestly when it comes to balance they could use some reduction to their durability but outside of that id say they are in a good place.The problem in my opinion is twofold. How many choppers are available on the map, and the available counters to them. Right now we have a major imbalance in vehicle spawn tokens. You have the Attack group (Attack Helicopter / Jets) and the Transport group (Nightbird/ Transport vics). This is where the hiccup starts.The Nightbird is not a transport vehicle, it is an attack chopper and should be categorized as such. Players should have to pick between the either using the apache or the nightbird. By doing this, you would reduce the number of choppers on the map which would be less oppressive to the infantry.Example:In a bot match on the Hourglass I have 3 tokens for Air. 2 for attack and 1 for transport. This means I can have 3 choppers in the sky which is maximum anti-infantry. If we changed the token system to "jets" "helicopters" and "transport". Then put nightbird and attack helicopters in one section and disperse the tokens. Then we have 1 jet, 1 chopper, and 1 Transport. So basically one chopper either nightbird or attack heli would be on the map at any given time. This is much more manageable for the infantry.The final issue is the lack of available counters to the choppers. Their Anti Air missiles makes them a threat to jet fighters (there natural counter) who cannot engage choppers enough. The fact is a chopper can "skybox" by raising to high altitude and force jets to engage them from below (which is usually suicide).As for the stinger missiles the infantry has. I feel like they should deal significant damage to nightbirds, apache's, and jets. Given how hard it is to lock and attack them. I rarely get locked by infantry as a jet, but when I do I can flare it. On the even rarer occasions where I do get hit. It should hurt me bad.I get your frustrations though, I primarily pilot a jet so I target choppers so they are not harassing ground troops.

Worse is @LS5_71 ,That after the latest game update then EA/DICE nerfed the AA weapon for infantries even further. So even if you are lucky to get one of your just 3 AA Stingers to hit any of the air vehicles, then you typically now just get a 15 XP points damage award while the air vehicle is still in fine shape to continue its flying around and meat grinding of infantry on the ground.

@A-RAF2019 Blame the design I'm out there putting ammo down and ppl just run from it like its a bomb... ppl don't wait for meds to res either lol. I gave up running AA as its pointless. This is where infantry only maps and a server browser would help, not metro, maybe something like locker or argonne forest.

Most peoples like you wouldnt last 2 seconds in an helicopter before getting destroyed ..Helicopters are chased by Helicopters , Jets , Soflam , Hacking Specialist disabling Counter mesures and guns ... AA tanks , 120mm Tanks point blank shots , Miniguns , AA stingers . and Snipers with Armor penetration shells .. and so onHelicopters are insanely difficult to make use of and you spend your time running away from danger and get lock on by dozens of infantry while fighting other Helicopters , Jets and so on in the air ..GO get a helicopter USE IT and come back with 5 videos of yourself using it see how good youll be with it ! I am waiting for youBut yes Jets are OP against vehicles but are no threats to infantry .. Jets should be nerfs in some capacity

Is this a joke? There are so many lock on missiles in this game, the helicopters are constantly running and hiding because they only get one flare at a time. Literally every single player on the enemy team can have a lock on missile, plus they can have tanks with lock on missiles and attack helicopters with lock on missiles. If anything, the helicopters need more flares because there are waaay too many lock on weapons in this game. This is a Battlefield game, not Call of Duty. Personally, I take helicopters out all the time with the recoilless M5, not even the lock on missile. If you want to run around shooting people on the ground and never have to learn any skill or strategy other than run and gun, then go play Call of Duty.That's what the game is good for.

I've taken to using Rao a lot more lately when I'm hunting helicopters. Being able to disable their weapons and flares and follow up with stinger is really useful... Sadly even in its disabled state, they can often outrun the missile before the debuff wears off.

@LS5_71 i'd remove the rockets from the Nightbird, buff its mini-gun/ make the convergence point more favorabile and make it focus more as a anti-chopper vehicle, remove the 50-mmm canon entirely from any vehicle, reduce the transport choppers to having one mini-gun for the gunner seat with the spotter and increase its passenger space to 10 or 12 so it actually becomes a meaningful insertion tool, the attack chopper would get a maximum arming distance with its 30mm cannon so it no longers flies at the skybox but has to be within 200-300m of where it wants to engage. as a trade off i would also make the FXMAA have the same distance so it can not outrange the chopper.

I don't think choppers are over powered however I do think that infantry AA needs a buff, I can't comment on the wildcat as I never use it. I have noticed a huge difference since the last patch where my AA is next to useless.

@LS5_71 Have you tried to fly one? You have to be a really good pilot to stay alive more than 1-2 minutes. I would like to fly more but can’t. Everyone shoots me down easily.

Maybe it would be good to have flak cannon at some objectives like in BF1 and BF5.

@LS5_71 Yep. I'm not a good pilot and I can give them hell with one. It is so easy to fly them on BF2042. It is designed to fly so we'll that when you want to land then, you can't, they take off automatically and stabilize completely.

100% agreed.

And everyone I play with say the same. A group of about 120 people (at least 60 frequently). It is a vehicle spam game. There is nothing for those who love a good gun fight.

Metro, Zavod, Locker, Argonne forest, Amiens, where theze types of maps?

Soflam needs to paint more than one target, btw. No one uses it.
When someone on our squad or someone else is using it, I'm like... Ah... What a relief!
I wish I could find that guy to give him an accolade.
I wonder who tested this game for balance and if they knew what they were doing.
Dice: Just look at how long a helicopter or jet stay alive, and compare that to tanks and infantry. Also look at kills per minute, k/d ratio and average XP per time on heli/jet.
