Traversal Sprint for LMGs a nerf

If this game is still aiming for balance performance. Then LMGs need a serious nerf when traversal sprint

In real life an LMG weighs in at 22lbs (10kg)

A standard AR weighs in at 7.6lbs (3.6kg).

Yet there is no penalty difference for traversal sprint. I feel like a steroid soldier who’s got the accuracy of John Wick when I’m running and gunning lol

  • well because its not aiming for realistic lol......I mean the specialists alone throw that out the window, but even besides that you are worried about LMGs? the engineers are also probly carrying RPGs lol, REALISTICALLY an engineer with that gear would need a squad just to assist......

Battlefield and therefore also BF2042 was never aiming for realistic game play.

Games like BF1 and such might aimed for realistic things in terms of the map design, soldier looks, available guns and vehicles for that time of WW1 ect. but never really in game play wise.

Otherwise you would be always dead with like 1 bullet to the head no matter if it's a small pistol or a sniper rifle.

But that's not the case either. So, no they ain't aiming for realistic game play.

At the first place it should be a casual and fun shooter game. And some guns or attachments to them make them slightly better or worse in handling to have some differences too.

Poor word choice. Didn’t think this post would be taken so seriously lol

The Franchise is an immersion of battle. Idk if you work for EA but you need to educate yourself on the franchise as it’s literally themed on battles/war. I understand it’s a video game. But if you ever played this franchise they had hardcore modes where it was one shot kills ok lol

@battlejoke well, there is often people her that seriously ask if Battlefield is supposed to be realistic in certain cases or say that some things don't make sense the way they are (and then tell examples from real life cases).

So if someone comes up with a thread like this, of course people might think you are serious in what you ask and try to tell what you probably don't like the way it is. 🤨

I also played a bunch of the previous BF titles and i also know Hardcore server we had. But standed server wise, it's never been focusing on being that realistic.

Hardcore servers did make it a whole new experience tho, sometimes liked to play them too. 🙌

There should not be infinite sprinting in general. There should be a sprint timer and cooldown, and if you traversal sprint, the timer goes down faster.

They could make the LMG proficiency allow for equal sprint speed to other classes with SMG, AR, DMRs, and SRs. So if you are Assault, Support, or Recon, sprinting with an LMG will be slower than Engineer. That would make sense to me.

  • They need infinite sprint due to map size and lack ofsmall vehicle transportation.

What they should do is put a penalty on ADS after running/sprinting. This would give an advantage to someone that was standing or walking and reduce the amount of sprinting, hopping and killing like some over the top action movie.

  • @battlejoke  As someone who mains LMGs because of the versatility they offer, there's already a punishment for running and gunning with LMGs. The sprint to fire time feels slower with the LMG so I'm not sure why you think it needs a nerf in this aspect.

Also, the maps require that sprint have no limit otherwise the game truly becomes a walking simulator.

If you want to nerf anything about the LMGs, then you need to nerf it's accuracy whilst standing but conversely such a nerf will need a major buff for its accuracy whilst crouching and an even greater buff when prone. That makes sense in my mind and is what the Support Class already tries to do, but the bipod is so awkward in this game, I seldom find myself going prone to cover an area.
