As for the Rorsch and season 3, it's more rewarding for snipers to hang back and take kills at distance (the Rorsch really does make this fun) but based on experience if you're enjoying this a bit too much it's likely going to get "balanced".

@InS_HypnoI hear where you're coming from man. Although, why even have CQC ammo if close quarters combat is so fervently discouraged with the SWS? The frustrating aspect to me is that it's a very particular build that sets you up to do this with the SWS and the game has now been out for a year, folks have found play-styles that they enjoy only to have them completely ruined for what feels like no good reason.

I think they should've just nerfed the CQC ammo
OHK on the regular ammo wasn't OP, it allowed you to play aggressive but not as much as the CQC which let you press W as much as you want

OHK weapons are really a thing that should be kept to an absolut minimum.
If recons want to play CQC, use a gun that is intended for that (shotgun, automatic weapon).
Sniper-rifles can one-hit kill at any distance with a head-shot, that should be more than enough.
We cannot OHK at long ranges with ARs by selecting a non-auto firemode and some special ammo. Having this 2-in-1 weapon system for snipers are weird.

It's not a thing that is particularly easy to pull off though. It's a high-risk/high-reward playstyle. If you miss, you're probably dead in the next second. The crossbow still allows you to this, and now we have the throwing knife too, which I would argue is a LOT easier to do.

The reality is now anytime you get caught of guard in CQC you need to hit a difficult shot very quickly to stay alive
Sniping is just straight up bad now if you don't camp the edges of the map where no one can touch you
It's just boring
And playing CQC with the sws and an 8x was definitly harder than playing with automatic weapons or a shotgun
- cso77773 years agoSeasoned Ace@InS_Hypno I understand your argument.
The problem is why people that run with an SMG/shotgun (which are useless at anything but close range), can get one-shot by an sniper-rifle at close range?
Why should sniper-rifles have 2 one-hit-kill functions (no matter how much skill it involves)?
