Update 3.2 Feedback - Gadgets

You guys looking into how ridiculous the Lis missile is currently? The 600m range is longer than some maps and with the turn rate increase you might have to dodge one missile up to 3 times. I know console players aren’t used to missing with aim assist and lock weapons but this change is actually unbelievable. The desync is still terrible and I can’t believe you guys made it stronger before fixing this first. Oh and the 150 m/s boosted speed is faster than the jet with full afterburner flying downwards. 

Also Rao should not get a free SOFLAM with his hacks. I think preventing any vehicle from playing the game for 10 seconds for simply existing is enough.

Like. - The "Gadgets" themselves for the most part are fine.

Dislike - Distributing the "Gadgets" to only certain "Classes".

What I'd like changed - Revert everything to pre-3.2 patch.

Since that probably isn't going to happen, I'd like if it gave more XP for using said "Gadgets" i.e., partial damage done to infantry and vehicles, "Assist counts as kill", spotting with SOFLAM, tagging with Tracer darts, etc. etc.

One final note, the claymore is completely underwhelming and essentially useless with the neon laser lights shinning out of it, I think I've only gotten maybe two kills with it and only died to it once, I don't even bother trying to use it anymore.

Overall gadgets are okay, most are from previous BF games, which proved to be working good.

Specialist gadgets are a mixed bag. I would rather to have an option to bring something else than Boris Turret, or Crawford's turret. Lis TV GM is good, but having an option of replacing it with other AT or AA would be a better thing. Basically having an option to replace Specialist's unique gadget with something else would be a better option. 

It could be simple as allowing to have one hand grenade and one flash grenade.

There seems to be some confusion here.

Gadgets requests:

AAmine from BF4, Decoy from BF4, Mortar from BF4

Make AmmoBox, TracerDart & M5Recoil available to more classes.
Rework Boris, Crawford, Angel.
Make Irish APS only block anti-infantry grenades.

Nerf Falck self-healing & Mackay nible trait.
Soflam/Dart useless cause Engi are 99% Lis.
Prevent vehicles farming infantry from 300+ meters.

Not a gadget but the recon perk is useless to a character like Paik, she is a recon character meant to go closer in battle, and would often not use a sniper rifle.

Boris's Sentry Gun is also kind of a joke, makes him a pretty useless specialist.

LIkes:

• Claymores are well balanced (near useless). Hate these things.  Suggest adding a 50/50 chance of killing owner upon placement.
• Good to see the return of Javelin and Tracer darts.

Dislikes/Suggestions:

• General
  • Would have preferred to see gadget 'proficiencies' rather than the hard restrictions
  • We have the ability to customize guns via attachments.  We have the ability to customize vehicles through weapon/utility selections.  How about the ability to customize gadgets?
  • AP Ammo.  Not really a gadget, but too many tradeoffs, not enough benefit.

• Assault

  • C5+Mackay/Sundance is too good versus heavy armor.  Remove C5 from assault or reduce ammo capacity to 2.

  • Body armor.  Don't like it.  Never will. Remove it or add a negative tradeoff - reduce ADS speed by 10% with body armor equipped.

  • Med pen reinforces the selfishness of the class. Would prefer to see their 'free' gadget to be more teamplay focused.

• Support

  • Medic bag feels redundant with self heal. By the time you find a bag or chase someone down the regen has started.

  • Ammo bag is rather boring. Would just prefer to see ammo crates around the map (BF1942/BFV).

• Engineer

  • Repair tool. Would like to see this do significantly more damange to vehicles. Instant disable, then 10 damage per second to heavy armor. 30 damage per second to light armor.

  • FXM. It's effective against novice pilots but too easily countered against pilots worth killing. Flare/lock-on system needs a rework. FXM is BORING.

  • FXM needs a dumbfire mode. Straight and fast with proxy detonation. See Desert Combat Stinger and BF1 Anti-Air rocket.

  • FXM/M5/Jav need more ammo. BF4 allowed 7(?) with perk.

  • Would like to see a shoulder launched TOW missle. AT4/SRAW please.

  • SOFLAM + launcher integration needs a full rework. Players do not take advantage of locks. (Window of opportunity too short? Range insufficient? Unaware of lock? Reluctance of shooting due to how easily countered they are? Not enough people carrying compatible gadgets?)

  • Would be nice to see the G-84 receive some benefit from SOFLAM/designations. Unsure how this could be fairly balanced.

  • Would like the ability to 'air burst' the G-84 for reduced damaged. I believe Desert Combat SA-3's and Patriot's had this ability.

• Recon

  • SOFLAM spotting ability is obsolete. 3D spotting is better/faster and free. No one takes advantage of locks, see above. The requirement to herd cats in order to see the benefits of designated targets is a dealbreaker.

  • Tracer dart. No one takes advantage of locks, similar issues as SOFLAM.

  • Spawn beacon needs to be easier to locate. Needs louder/larger radius audio cue.
