@M7-StriXMy ping is 27 to the west coast North American servers, 79 if I get match made to a central US server. They game plays entirely different in that situation. Last night I was playing a game with my 27 ping, and the average server latency was 32. A player joined and the average later my went to 75. I could not get any hit registration after that player joined, and I had to quit and try and get match made into a different server. I kept getting match made back to that server. So that one player wrecked my game, and I stopped playing for the night. I want to stress that it’s still Dice matchmaking all of us together, it’s not really the players fault, unless they are using a VPN. It’s spoofing your location which fools the game, but the physical connection itself is still going to be significantly degraded. It’s awful that you need a VPN to find other players, that’s not your fault and I’m not trying to attack you personally. It must be recognized though that VPNs are bad for everyone’s game. They should not be allowed in multiplayer gaming that needs a high connection for the game to work. 2042 compensates all players based on individual servers. If you were match made to a server I was in, my 27 m/s connection would change to 65-70, and be virtually unplayable. Your connection however would play better, as it would lower your connection from 100 to 65. It literally gives you an advantage. In my personal opinion it’s a form of cheating as it does provide you an advantage, even if that’s not your intent. The system is broken and is affecting MP games worldwide.
