Vehicle 3rd person/chase camera question

With patch 4.0 I noticed the 3rd person/chase camera view for vehicles has changed when playing on the xbox.  Prior to 4.0 if using this view and moving the camera around it would automatically swing back to view straight ahead.  With 4.0 the camera now stays where you aimed it and doesn't swing back automatically as it did before.  From doing some reading it appears this is how it has been on PC for some time.  I looked to see if there is an option for how you want the view to react in 3rd person/chase camera view but can't find an option.  If there is such an option can someone let me know where to adjust this.  If this is not an option I think it would be a good idea to add this into the menu to give people a choice of how they would like the camera to act when using the 3rd person/chase camera view.  Thanks.

@Psubond Vehicles are a big problem for Dice and every BF game struggles with vehicle/infantry balance.

Vehicles have 3rd-person view and unlimited ammo, which are both overpowered. These things makes vehicles fundamentally broken when combined with infantry-players in a FPS-game.

But just removing these features will bring a lot of other problems.

Finally, vehicles like the Bolte shouldn't have been in the game at all, it is impossible to balance without making it either overpowered or totally useless.

I am still hoping a forum member or EA/DICE could answer my question rather than have a discussion as to if 3rd person vehicle view should be in the game or not.  People have views on both sides of everything in this game including this.  I am simply looking for an answer to my question.  Thanks.

@tprz There is no “snap to front” key bindings available on PC, that would be pretty handy. I’ve looked and it’s not an option. As PC generally has greater options available (thanks keyboard!), I don’t think it’ll be an option in consoles. I’ll switch between first and third person mode and that’ll snap the third person back to front almost as quickly.

Don’t begrudge other forum members debating a concept, it’s what forums do. Personally I’m a huge fan of third person views, it’s the only way not to get C5’d by sneaky snakes…
