BF2042 is now suffering from the same disease as previous games before BF1 - People taking offensive vehicles as their personal transport to get into the useless camping spots and be a useless little * that tries to hit those "epic MLG 1000m+ headshots"But all they do is waste vehicles that can be used by other players who actually want to use them. Pretty much every single I see people using jets and attack helis to get to wherever they want and thats it. IMO this should be a punishable offence OR Pilot/Tanker classes must return from BF1/5 as it was an amazing idea that totally cured this problem from the franchise.Here is one of MANY examples. I'm already flying in an enemy jet and seeing a blown up attack heli on the roof with a spawn beacon next to it. Meaning some sniper used it to get on the roof. So the game just started and enemy team has 0 air vehicles right off the start. And not because someone isn't good and lost a fight, but because people intentionally wasted them or gave them to us, which is considered griefing On a side note, I spent the entire game in that jet and we ended up winning 450-0 by demolishing the enemy team as they had no air or ground support.https://youtu.be/SWHYWnhYO8w?si=JBj0Ft5XnbvQ8RSr

@JOGAGATYA Just my opinion, you have to always ride the vehicle to death. How many times have you seen an enemy get your teams tanks or helos or other vehicles because people take a little damage and bail out. You’re giving them a vehicle, which is worse even than wasting a vehicle as Plumber is talking about. A Captain should always go down with their ship, no exceptions.

@QuirlllNot sure I follow but how exactly do you get upgrades for a vehicle if not by using it (which would require for the noobs to also get one from time to time)?

As much as you don't like it and i don't like it, everyone who bought this game and plays on public servers, they are entitled to do whatever they want.This is the very reason BF games needs private servers!The whiny kids that ban when they get killed is the problem.I played BF2 professionally back in the day on dedicated servers. Public servers are exactly that, for the public.

@ForumUser Solo/Co-op play lets you level up to 12 on weapons, specialists, and I assume vehicles.So... noobs.. go play solo against "AI", learn the vehicle, get some kills so you get the upgrades...

Vehicle classes would solve the problem, but it'd also eliminate some Battlefield moments. Rendezook!
I'd rather vehicles have a variable respawn timer. If a vehicle dies quickly it should get a faster respawn. Doesn't solve the problem but it will reduce the impact.

@AngrySquid270 Pilots can keep a rocket launcher for that, no issues there.

Give Pilot/Tanker improved repair tool for faster repair on your own vehicle and you're good to go.

It's a little bit tough subject because someone who is not good with a vehicle will get shot down very quickly. I sometimes feel like i would like to be a heli pilot but most of the times after 20 seconds i am almost dead so i have to jump out. Abandon the heli which sometimes just falls to the ground.
i know, i know...maybe i should go to an empty portal map and practice....but on the other hand should we say the same thing to our teammate who sucks...don't run around here, go practice in portal?

@JOGAGATYA I'm talking about actual wasters who intentionally spawn in a heli/jet just to get to some obscure camping spot.

And if you're losing 1v1, you're just better go all the way because as you mentioned yourself, even against all odds you can survive and keep fighting with 1hp.

I was honestly not a fun of the pilot/tanker class.
these extra classes did not help with preventing incompetent players from claiming the vehicles.

I would say to let sleeping dogs like and maybe look in the respawn timers of vehicles which were destroyed too soon after spawning

@UP_Hawxxeye Bro that's the problem. In a video I took an enemy Su57 right at the beginning because someone used it as a quick lift to an objective and bailed, so it safely landed at our spawn.

I don't mind incompetent players as much as people intentionally using jets as an Uber

Taking a jet at the start of the game to reach a remote flag fast, then place a beacon, can mean the enemy team gets completely run over so it’s a quick match.
But it requires that your team mates see the opportunity and use the beacon.
I say it on team chat, i.e. “Beacon on B roof, safe to use atm.”

And it’s a big advantage if you’re in a squad with friends and use mics.
