Well there's one easy verdict I can come to after 1 year.
A certain section of the community seems to be addicted to bashing the current battlefield game every chance they get.
If enough of them bash it they can literally kill off a game but if there's not enough of them then the game can survive.
However to negate this EA could go back to the premium business model.
That way it doesn't matter if the doom merchants attack the game and smear its reputation, which they have done twice in a row now, us battlefield fans will still get a longer lifecycle and more content.
