Verdict after a year?

I have been playing for the first time since release.

Back then the game was simply unplayable. I'm on playstation 5.

Altough the game has improved alot (scoreboard, mechanics, hitreg...) there are still crucial factors for me that make the game a no no.

1)

Crossplay=on, Its still not fun for a console player to play against pc players (they have the upper hand).

Crossplay=off, takes ages to find a game and if you find one its 70% bots most of the time.

Solution:

A) a three way setting 1) crossplay on 2) standard (default setting that puts players in servers where they are needed so crossplay off becomes finally playable) 3) crossplay off.

B) Make crossplay off the default setting so there are more people on crossplay off servers.

2)

The maps are still horrible! The best maps in 2042 are those from bc2 and bf3... I'm sorry but its not even close. The old maps are 100 times better than the new ones, so i hope this will be something they take with them to the next battlefield game.

Solution:

Build maps up from real life locations, and look back to bf3 and bc2 what made those maps great (enough space, variation in landscape, realistic...) I prefer fighting in villages and woodlands, not one map of the new ones takes place in a known village or woodland.

Also bottlenecks in rush and breakthrough maps are gameplaykillers!!! Maps should be wide enough to be able to flank the enemy and play a tactical (slower paced) game. (I understand why devs create bottlenecks... its a lot of shooting and chaos and it "concentrates the action"...but trust me, if the game gets stuck every single time on the same point in the map for the same reason.... this type of fun gets old really fast)

3)

The specialists are horrible, they look horrible (like fortnite farted and they came out with it), they kill teamplay. Grappling hook, wingsuit, robodog??.... those things really got to go!

Solution: make battlefield look more mature and a game for adults (like the trailer did perfectly!) If you wanna keep specialists,  put them in traditional categories (medic, support, engineer, recon) and make them look like real soldiers... not like fortnitefarts.

I hope they'll get it right nex time or a new and better shooter franchise rises from these ashes. I'm just trying to help.

ptfo!
