@danbottomburp What's your FOV, screen size, resolution? What sights are you using?
I'm using 88 FOV, which is a little higher, but try using something between 74-90. 74 is the lowest I would go and would be considered 90 in most other games. Battlefield is measure vertically instead of horizontally like some other games.
I also find setting ADS zoom to off, I can't remember that exact name. Off doesn't match your selected FOV, but instead uses the default FOV. It zooms your sights in more. This helps quite a bit.
Like Tank2042Man said, start spotting people. It definitely helps to track them sometimes. The contrast in colors, weather effects, lighting effects, can all add up to make it pretty hard to see. If you're newer to the game and having to learn the maps on top of all that is pretty rough.

Also what is your screen size? And how far away are you sitting from it?
