Fully agreed @RipGroove99 ,
The hard numbers are coming in and the trend is not pretty no matter how creative anybody would try and sugar coat this.
The players are switching off after very short time versus previous long-term viable games in this franchise:
Needless to say that the investors/owners are not happy and substantial measures of course correction are required by EA Sr Management.

I'd say this is the higher-up/investor's fault - Console still has a large player base but I already see a ton of people in the community playing less or with less interest (that said, I've been LOVING the new Rush playlist)
- RipGroove994 years agoSeasoned Ace@TTZ_Dipsy Exactly, the people behind the money only care about numbers (which is understandable of course), they will want high player numbers.

Ever since they disabled progression in solo & co-op and refused to listen to the community, I myself have plenty of great ideas for this game but noone bloody listens
- ragnarok0134 years agoHero+@CyberDyme The problem in my mind is that they won't say "Hey we need to ensure this is more Battlefield like to recover!" but they'll double down and say "Battlefield is not with the times make it even more like Apex and Warzone!" making the phenomenon far worse for Battlefield players by moving even farther from the Battlefield experience that we want.
- LordVader6664 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@ragnarok013 I agree they’ll (deliberately?) misinterpret the reasons for the drop but the message has been loud and clear on various forums, metacritic etc. They may wilfully ignore the feedback but either not buying the game or stopping if you can’t refund is probably the only message they’ll pay attention to.
Like a lot of people on here I’ve bought multiple BF games and sunk in a lot of hours. This franchise was my go to game and I now naively believed the released game would be “ok” but for a variety of reasons I’ve just lost interest in it and can only see me coming back to it down the line if they ever make some serious changes (which I doubt) Having 3 games in one also fractured the player base.
I won’t be preordering next time and will wait for reviews- ragnarok0134 years agoHero+

I won’t be preordering next time and will wait for reviews@LordVader666 I feel you, traditionally I purchased BF with Premium on every available platform in addition to all of the hours I sink in per week here on the forums and running FridayNightBattlefield so the commitment hasn't been small. Battlefield is really a unique game play experience that we can't get anywhere else so forsaking its identity to chase trends and be Apex and Warzone is particularly damaging because we have nowhere else to go. Apex and COD guys can go back to Apex and COD to get the experience that they want but we can't, so it's imperative that we leave robust, detailed, and constructive feedback to DICE here and on other social media platforms to let them know what exactly the problem is.
I'm not even asking DICE to remove things like the Specialists, I'm asking for them to keep the Specialist mode running concurrently along side a traditional class based Battlefield mode in AOW so long time Battlefield veterans have an official experience to play Battlefield outside of Portal instead of Apexfield. I wonder if the resistance is there because they know the Specialist version would be underpopulated if the player base is given an traditional experience as a choice.

There have been discourse in the BF boardroom on this very subject.
Not happy the 'arcade super hero BR COD believers' were given an additional leash.
We got plenty of substantial feedback from the players and the game changer community from early on and still they kept insisting to just get some more time and money to show us...
This meltdown should have been avoided long ago. Don't throw good money after bad.

if you visit the DICE homepage, you'll notice the problem is not rooted only in EA sadly

It looks like doubling down may be exactly what they're doing. I really don't think they care about why Battlefield was great in the first place and how they can use that template to further the franchise and make money. It seems that all of the people who were PASSIONATE about Battlefield are gone and are just replaced with people who can create the next best ATM machine. The trend chasing continues.....
