Was BF2042 originally developed as a Hero Shooter?

So are you saying that they initially planned to not make a new battlefield but a Battle royal instead even though the BR experiment had failed in BF5

    @skullcracker2378 Judging the game by map design, the weapon attachment plus system, lack of scoreboard. I would say yes, BF2042 is mostly designed around Hazard Zone.
