Was BF2042 originally developed as a Hero Shooter?

@Adamonic I work that theory for quite some time now.

For me it started with a "what it ..." and then most of the design decisions make sense.

Even the fact that there are no anti-vehicle specialists like the classical Battlefield Engineer.
