I want platoons as well but I disagree that simply adding the platoon features that were in previous games is enough. I want Battlefield to showcase the top platoons in the game, and then also put a bounty on their heads.
Use the platoons who are the team players in the Battlwfield community to create a competitive culture that this series so desperately needs. Create a play area in the game for platoons where wins/losses matter. Where quitting is punished. Which is why there should be platoon XP along with platoon specific perks.
If you are a BF player that does not want to deal with stacked clans. Then do not go into this area of the game. There are 64 players on a team for goodness sakes. People should be able to play with as many of their friends as they preferr, or at least up to 16 of them.
The game should be encouraging people to play with their friends and do well together by celebrating the top platoons right there in the game for all to see. What is the alternative? The crappy matches that we have going on in the servers right now on all active BF games.
