Weapon Customisation

How much are we going to be able to customise our weapons? Will they implement a "Gunsmith" system, similar to CoD? With the Plus System (where you can change attachments on the go) you only have 4 slots (sight, barrel, under barrel and magazine) but no stock, grip or anything similar. Will we have more options like in CoD (you had up to 9 slots with a max of 5 at the same time)? I think the Gunsmith system from CoD was very popular and if they add the feature to customise your weapon to the extreme (with more than just 4 slots) then, this could be massive. Anyone knows something that I don't?

  • @MarcosEMR1 As you may see in the screenshot from the Pre-Alpha Plus system there should be 3 slots for each direction of the Plus, which indicates the part of the weapon where it'll be added to like Scope, Barrel, underneath barrel (like grip or mag), and stock.

And if there ain't any changes to come, atm we will be limited to 3 slots for each direction. So a 12 in total, which gives you a lot of nice combos you can do on the go to get prepared for the next situation.

@Its_Travis_199 That's what bothers me a bit. I have no doubt there will be loads of scopes or underbarrels, barrels etc to choose from. But what gets a bit on my nerves is the fact that you probably will have to choose between flashlight or silencer, or flashlight or grip. I mean, surely between all the options of scopes (for example) you will have to choose your 2 favourite for the Plus System. But still, just 4 attachments to your weapon still seems a bit lame.

Maybe, you will be able to add more stuff on the main menu, but the Plus System only allows those 4 options?

@MarcosEMR1 well, I've re-watched the gameplay trailer again and as it seemed the indicator of the Plus from the direction towards your soldiers body, seems to actually not be the stock itself. This actually is the magazine, and the one that goes down is the underneath barrel part then. (not including mag)

But yeah, i see your point.

Either if lasers are part of barrel or underneath barrel, you may have to choose what you'll take. I get it.

But if you remember from like BF4, some attachments have similar effects on the weapons sometimes, if like a grip and laser increases the hip fire, or another grip and a muzzle break reduces the recoil ect.

So maybe some things ain't wanted to be connected.

And in the other side, some things might be made cause of the realistic side and the weapon isn't able to connect certain things at the same time as the connecting point is on the same place on the weapon.

And maybe (we don't know) there are a few things you can pick in main menu first as preparation which you can't change ingame than, and stuck with it until redeploy.

    That would be the best

That would be a great idea.

However, not sure if each weapon will have their own level progression and unlock attachments as you using it, or you just unlock all the attachments as you level up and use it for your weapons.

Overall, I'm still fine with 4 categories for modifications, because in BF5 the only mod you can do is the scope, rest are cosmetic.

But I'm sure they will add weapon skin in the battle pass as well for cosmetic.

  • @ExGravity If that's the case, then, hopefully the attachments will have a direct impact to the weapons behaviour, not just cosmetics. I mean, I also hope to see lots of different skins to weapons
